About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Pink Christmas Swap!

Today is the last day to sign up for the Pink Christmas Swap!  My friend, Heather, told me about it.  She said she took part in the swap last year and had the most wonderful time!  Don't miss out!

**Robin, it's not too early to start your swap!:-)**

Ladybugs and Dance Parties

I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning (my creative time)- again.  Now, I am paying for it.  Good thing my girls are creative!  While I was still snoozing Katie made this darling ladybug and watermelon.  Aren't they cute??

Now the girls are preparing for their Tropical Island Dance party by the pool.  Yes, the magic is still there.:-)  They even dressed for the occasion with flowers in their hair!  Such fun!  Mandy said they are even going to do the limbo.:-)

Have a wonderful day!  It's almost the weekend....

You can never have too many tokens..

My friend, Roxanne, and I took our kids to the neighborhood fun place today.  It was so nice to be able to catch up with her and let the kids play.  Of course, we had to stock up on tokens.  It's amazing how quickly kids go through them!  (To be honest, I am a huge fan of skeeball, so don't trust me with your tokens! tee hee)

As we were leaving, Katie and Sydney discovered a game that didn't need tokens!  A mystery machine, so to speak.  They had a blast until the game started requiring tokens again.  Here's Katie's reaction to not having to use tokens and still getting tickets....
I love that picture.:-)

Drum roll please...

Giveaways are always fun!  I wish I could do one every day.:-)  Thanks to all of you who entered my altered art pendant giveaway.  It really makes my day when I read your friendly comments!  Now, if you have your heart set on one of them and are not a winner- don't despair!  I have big plans for all of these little lovelies!  Each will be made into a necklace and put into my Etsy shop!
And now for the moment you've been waiting for!  (Drum roll please)  The two lucky winners of my altered art pendant giveaway are:

Congratulations Ladies!  Please contact me and let me know which pendant you would like and I will get busy making them into necklaces!  Who ever contacts me first gets first choice, so don't wait!

The Pool is Open!

We have been talking about getting a pool.  A real one.  Our girls love the water and played happily together in our tiny blow up pool for over 3 hours today.  3 hours.  I was able to have some time to myself and there were no fights, no complaining, no "I'm Bored".  It was heavenly!  Perhaps a "real" pool is somewhere in the future for us, but for today I loved that little blow up pool.  I'm hoping the magic will still be there tomorrow....

I wonder who will win....

Oh, I am having such fun making these tiny works of art!  Which one is your favorite?  I have two that I love the most and they are staying here with me!  I just couldn't let them go...  But the rest will be included in my giveaway.  It's not too late to enter!  I can't wait to make them into necklaces for the winners!  We will be drawing names tonight at 7:00 PM.  Who will the winners be?....

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

I have always had a crush on Linus.  I remember wanting so badly for the Great Pumpkin to show up so everyone would believe him.  Plus, he was always such a good friend to Charlie Brown.  Remember his monologue on the Peanuts Christmas show?  What a guy.:-)  I wanted to show you what is happening in our garden right now!  Gorgeous white Lumina pumpkins, compliments of Martha Stewart.:-)  They are absolutely beautiful- and huge!  Does anyone know when I should pick them??  Martha????  I was so hoping they would arrive in the Fall but these fellows just couldn't wait.  Any tips on how to make them last?  Perhaps I will have to have my Pumpkin Party in August...

**Oh, and don't forget to sign up for my 300th post giveaway!  We will do the drawing for 2 winners on Tuesday (tomorrow) night at 7:00.**
***Also, my Button Bracelet promotion ends this Wednesday evening.  Buy 2 or more button bracelets and they are only $13 each + postage!***

Pumpkin Seed Goodies!

Becka at Pumpkin Seed had a giveaway a little while ago and I was the lucky winner!  Becka is the absolute sweetest person and a wonderful Christian, so you must stop by her blog and say, "Hi!".  She sent me some darling red and white checked dish towels, a yummy scented candle from New Orleans, microwave corn on the cab (can't wait to try this with the girls!), a magnet with measurements on it (I really needed this!), and a fun sign that says, "Give me Patience- But Please Hurry!"  Doesn't this sound like all of us??!  Thanks again Becka for the fun package!

Fall Swap Sign-Ups are CLOSED!

Wow!  I was happily surprised at the response I got to the Fall Swap!  So many wonderful ladies are excited about the prospect of Fall!  It is such a fun time of the year.:-)  I have almost 40 people signed up and I think that is just enough for me to handle, so......  the Fall Swap sign-ups are now CLOSED!  Now comes the fun part- assigning partners!  Yippee!  I can't wait to start pairing all you fun and fabulous people up with your swap buddies!  Be watching and I will post partners any day now....

Orange-Green Belt!

Mandy tested last night and earned her orange-green belt!  Great job, Mandy!  Now she will be doing karate with weapons (bow staff and nunchucks).  She is excited, but I'm not ready for this big step...  Will I ever be, though?

Packages from Kid's Summer Swap!

I hosted a Kid's Summer Swap earlier this summer and it was a hit!  My girls made some new friends and loved getting their own packages in the mail.:-)  Mandy's swap partner was her 2nd cousin, Kemma.  The girls have never met one another but what a great way to get to know each other!  Kemma sent Mandy an amazing package of goodies!  My cousin, Robyn,
labeled each package with a number and explained why each gift was chosen.  So creative!  They sent some Canadian money and postcards, a bead kit, candy (where did THAT go??), a craft kit, Canadian pins, and some lovely dishtowels and doilies that our grandmother made (such a special touch!).  Mandy's favorite part was a tiny kitty purse from a Chinese shop.  What a treasure trove!  Thanks Kemma!

Katie's partner was Paige and what a fabulous load of goodies she sent her!  Katie received popsicle molds, the cutest little pink pig (Katie calls her "Plumpy"), gummy lifesavers, a pink bag, a kit to make your own ice cream, a pink, fluffy boa, a Hello Kitty noise maker, and a Jacks game set!  Thanks Paige!  The girls were definitely spoiled- and they loved it!  I think I need to host another kid's swap in the near future.:-)

Tasty Science

It's amazing all the cool things they have for kids these days!  Mandy got a kit called "Tasty Science" from the toy store the other day.  It's cooking and science in a box.  The girls decided to do an experiment on why cupcakes rise.  Do you know why cupcakes rise?  Well, I am going to tell you.  A chemical reaction takes place when an acid (vinegar) and a base (baking soda) are combined and this causes carbon dioxide bubbles to form.  The bubbles cause the cupcakes to rise. Now, don't you feel smarter?  I know the girls and I did!  Plus, the cupcakes were tasty.:-)
