About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Wish List

It's time to make my Wish List! Yippee! Do you all make wish lists? I figure that I am now 40 so I am not going to hold back. I am going to wish like I have never wished before. Why not? I have the most fun buying gifts for my girls, but it would lovely to get one or two things that I am secretly (not anymore!) wishing for.:)

Love, love, love personalized stationery and stickers and this lady delivers!

Gorgeous, absolutely amazing pictures and stationery! I have been wishing all year...

I purchased "Good Mail" stickers before and everyone wanted to know where I got them! My dear friend, Heather, got me started and now I can't stop! I am all out now so...

I want one so badly. Please Santa....
Just once in my life I would love a trinket in a tiny blue box. You know the place...
My sweet friend, Denise, sent me some of this last year. I finished the whole box in about a month! YUM! Will they make it this year? If so, I am stocking up!

Yes, I reeeaaalllyyy want one.

You know me and Nancy Drew. I would love to add these to my collection. Now, if I could just find some time to play them....

What is on your wish list?

I Want to Live in Dallas...

I'm finally getting a minute to post our trip to Dallas! We knew we were in for some fun when we saw the sign for the Galleria Mall...

IMG_8598

I had forgotten all about The American Girl Place! Good thing the girls brought two of their dolls along...

IMG_8599
Even my husband had fun! It is not quite as glamorous as the one in Chicago, but we were thrilled just the same! Mandy had Kirstin's hair done as soon as we arrived!

IMG_8606

After making out wish lists and dreaming (a lot!) we went upstairs to the cafe. I thought you might like a peek at the menu...

IMG_8611

They have dolls everywhere with anything you could imagine for them! This is the bottom of the escalator where all the Girls of the Year dolls are displayed.

IMG_8612

Can you stand all the cuteness?! I wanted to make out a wish list of my own.:)

IMG_8613

We had to venture IN the mall, too. That is an adventure all it's own! Nordstrom (MY favorite!) for lunch! LUSH, Chico's, Tiffany's, Macy's, SAKS, etc. It's all there! (Psst! Next time I want to stay at the Westin hotel that is connected to the mall. Wanna join me?)

IMG_8616

We were back the next day for an early lunch at the American Girl Place as we headed back home. It was yummy! Special chairs and even a little muffin for the dolls.:)

IMG_8652
For her starter, Katie chose fresh fruit kabobs and strawberry muffins with strawberry yogurt for dipping...

IMG_8658

Kirstin seemed to be having a lovely time!

IMG_8660

Love all the PINK!

IMG_8663

Katie and Elizabeth were in heaven!

IMG_8651

Mandy's starter we a cheese fondue with fresh warm bread. I chose pretzel bread with honey mustard and cheese dipping sauces. Oh my goodness...

IMG_8657

If you forget to bring your doll, they have ones that you can borrow. Is that genius or what? No one gets left out...

IMG_8649

Mandy's lunch was Tic Tac Toe Pizza, Katie ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs, Jeff had a hamburger and I enjoyed a Spinach Salad with strawberries, goat cheese and a delicious vinagrette dressing.

IMG_8665

Look at all the hair style choices!

IMG_8671
It's Elizabeth's turn...

IMG_8672

While we wait for her hair to be done, let's take a peek at the party rooms upstairs...

IMG_8670

I do believe that the girls would love to have their parties here! Perhaps someday...

It's Party Time!

We survived the PARTY! Yes, the girls are playing with "eyeballs" and "rats"! It's Halloween time! They are in "Gollum's Cave"... mwa haha!!!!

Katie and Shayla with their "Monster Bugs"...

My friends Christy and Darlene... Christy was "Mother Nature"- too cute!

Natalie, Shayla, Katie and Mandy create their masks...

Look at those sweet faces working on their Monster Bugs!

The Katie twins and Miss Rachel (their ballet teacher)

Cleopatra and her friend, the Spider Web enjoying apple cider. (There is NO way you would get me to wear a spider wrapped around my body.)

Cleopatra, a Pokemon trainer, Tinkerbell and Mulan...

Miss Pumpkin and Tinkerbell!

My husband, the pirate!

Me and Katie before the party... (I did it, Heather!)

Mandy and Me...
Me and my Cuties!

Daddy and his Girls...
My Department 56 Haunted House...

Preps for the Apple Cider...

Halloween Party reading material...

The Spider Web Game... The web is velcro and so are the stripes on the bugs!

Create a Mask Station...

Create a Monster Bug Station...

The girls creating "Gollum's Cave"! Mandy read scary stories by flashlight to "willing victims" in here...

It was a fun party. I think next year we will have an afternoon party with a Pumpkin theme so that all my friends can come. Some of my friends do not celebrate Halloween... Pumpkins are my "true" love, anyway.:0) The focus will be "out of doors" with a "s'more station", "pumpkin decorating station", "face painting station", and more. Time to start planning birthday parties now!
