Squash, Sunflowers and Cloud Pictures

Katie picked our first squash from the garden today.
We watched as the goldfinches feasted on our sunflowers.
We (Mandy and I) have eaten all our onions! They were
tiny and sweet. Even a hummingbird
stopped by...

Katie found snails and horses in the clouds
today.
I found a dragon!

Julie recommended these. Chocolate and peanut butter. Be
still my heart! Heather- We must try them!

I started a new wreath. Can't wait to show you.

I took Katie to her ballet workshop and came home to
this! Mandy had cleaned the kitchen counters (you should have
seen them before!), brought in the garbage cans and recycling,
gave Ruby her eye drops, completed her school work AND
wrote a book review! I was so very proud of her.

New. favorite. drink. Acai Blueberry Pomegranate
Vitamin Water. Mmmmmm. Zero calories and
tastes like heaven.

Off to craft. It's 11:23 and the night is young.:)

Green Eyed Monster

Yes, another friend just got an iPhone today.
I am jealous.

Are they REALLY that great?
Do you love yours?

What about the new Captivate? Another friend has
one of these. Is it better than an iPhone? Is that possible?

I am saving my pennies....

**Missy taught me how to text when I was in
Arizona. It takes me awhile to go through the
letters but I can do it. I feel like such a big girl!**

!!!!!!!UPDATE! My sweetie bought me an iPhone!! I looked in my purse and there is was smiling at me! I was utterly and completely surprised, let me tell you.:) Husband of the Year!!!

This, That and the Other

Mandy is the only person I know that
likes the heat. Wish I did.

Tonight we talked about creating a version of Lord
of the Rings starring Pugs. Pilbo Paggins, Prodo
Paggins, Pandolf, Paruman, etc. We laughed
about this at bedtime. Mandy has such a great sense of
humor.:)
Do your kids do this too? What is it with the peace
sign?
Such an odd choice of swimming apparel. Katie is usually
my little fashion plate. She was so excited to try out the new
water toys that she couldn't wait to find the top to her swim
suit.:)

My sewing machine and I are becoming friends. Miracle.
I still need help threading and such but when my machine is
humming I am in my happy place.

Katie has been saving her money up to buy Lanie,
the American Girl doll of the year. She has $11 to go. I'm
as excited as she is- maybe more.

Peaches are my new favorite fruit. I bought some today
from our local "corn lady". Sweet and juicy. Watermelon
has met it's match.

Heather will be here in 8 days. My house is in need of some
love. I must craft first. Priorities, you know. Heather will still
love me. Cannot. Wait. to. see. Them.
Mimi's Cafe is offering Kids Eat Free after
4 PM on Sundays this month. Go and order their salad
with pistachios. Their Arnold Palmers are great, too.
Who wants to cook in this heat?

Despicable Me. This weekend. I want to see Salt.

Stay cool. Eat peach cobbler. Read a book. Enjoy.

Winter's Bone

Wow. This is what I am reading right now.
It. is. Rough. I HAVE to know what happens.
I was up until 3 AM. Half way there....

Switcheroo

I have always wanted to eat dinner by
the fire and have a couch in my kitchen. The
night before my sister arrived I got busy...

The couch was in the living room and the
table and chairs were in the kitchen. Switcheroo.
The tablecloth (quilt) and chairs clash but I don't
care. I can't wait to play games in front of the fire
this winter!

Everyone sits on the couch now. It's the
best spot in the house. The light is incredible
and you can watch and hear the rain! It
works for me.:) Now all I need is two little
"poufies" for drinks and snacks. Love it.

Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

I vaguely remember hearing this years ago.
I was younger and it meant little. It's amazing
how much it makes sense now...

Happy National Pecan Pie Day!

Every day should be a celebration.
I like Hallmark created holidays. No, I don't mean
"Broccoli Day" or "Wave to your Garbage Man Day",
although they aren't bad ideas. I see nothing wrong with
finding reasons to celebrate. Valentine's Day is great with
pink, red, and hearts and St. Patrick's Day is fab
with green shamrocks and don't get me started
on Halloween!

Today is National Pecan Pie Day. I think I'll make
one tonight- just for fun.;)

Auntie Amy

Today is the last day to sign up
for my Polka Dot Swap...

My sister flew home today. It was not
easy letting her go.

We are different in many ways. This week
we discovered how much we have in common.

We can both roll our tongues. Can you?

We have the same sense of humor!
We both need our quiet time, too. We
love the same movies (Goonies, Karate Kid,
Princess Bride), watermelon, Twilight,
Red Vines, hate clowns, baby leashes and
Celery Lemonade (inside joke).

Amy loved on Ruby this week,
traded Silly Bandz with Mandy and
Katie and played a million board games
with them, too.
I beat her at Smarty Pants- this time.
She took amazing pictures and stayed
up late learning to make jewelry. She
is a natural, but I was not surprised.

Amy told me she just wanted to relax and
hang with us. It was our pleasure.

I'm not big on fireworks at home but I
do love sparklers. Do you write your name
in sparkler? I do.

The 4th was lovely. We watched fireworks from
our backyard and it was awesome. Gorgeous
explosions rose above the trees. No crowds,
just bouquets in the sky.

Mmmmm....
We did have this much fun.

Memories are made of this.:)

Ruby hid in the van. Fireworks are scary.

My newest passion...

Sisters do grow up to be friends.

Miss you, Amy.
