Halloween Mystery Party

Last night we solved morse code puzzles...

read secret letters and diary entries...

and found hidden clues!

Everyone read from their scripts

and confronted possible suspects!

It was a fun night with friends.

Candy was "stolen" (or misplaced, as was the case!)

but found in the end! Everyone left with a smile on their face.:)
(American Girl mystery parties are no longer for sale. You can
sometimes find them on ebay, though. Fun!)

Have you charged your camera batteries?

It's....

This and That

Count me in.
Free Kid's Meal at Chili's on Halloween!

Watched this with Mandy the other night. Such a classic! She
thought Jeff Goldblum was cute, though. Halloween trick on me?

I bought my first push up bra. I didn't know it at the time.
TJ Maxx. My size. I grabbed it.
I am feeling a bit hoochie now. It started out sexy until I put my
shirt on.
Uh oh.

Never Settle...

My old dentist went back to school.
His replacement is a real charmer.
He looked in my mouth and said, "What have you been
doing??!"
I do grind my teeth at night, but come on!
Don't you hate it when you are at the mercy of someone
else?
Spent 3 hours in the chair with the OTHER dentist in the
practice a few days later for a filling and a crown. (He's a
bit of a perfectionist and I was loving the happy gas.)
My chart (and all the members of my family) states that we
will NEVER see the new guy again.
Don't ever settle, dear friends.

Love our home school Girl Scout troop.

Katie and I spent the day together on Friday. Jeff and Mandy
rode roller coasters all day. Not our cup of tea. We get our thrills
by shopping and...

ear piercing! Katie was so brave. She keeps touching her ears
to make sure her earrings are still there.:) We went to Claire's
and they were professional and friendly.

Mandy's new hat. She looks great in them. Makes me want to
buy them...

Going in the shop today.

Mysteries all year long!

Next weekend.
Can't wait.
Katie will be Molly- need to find the glasses.
Mandy will be Mrs. Gilford.
The crabby no-nonsense housekeeper.
She is going to rock the part.

My Nancy Drew cuties.
They *all* read the book.
One sweetie read it 3 times!
2nd from the right.

I split them into two teams for the trivia challenge,
I was only able to stump them on two questions!

They made jeweled creations.
Mrs. Corning had them in the story.
So many "please" and "thank you's" from these girls.
I was utterly impressed and so very pleased.
I wrote notes telling their Moms.
Wouldn't you like to receive a note like that?

Sign of the Twisted Candles Peach Crisp.
Everyone helped.
Not a crumb left.:)

The same shirt!
They did not plan this.

It takes a lot to prepare for these classes.
It is worth every second.

Wonder if they will remember the fun times?

One young lady was quite upset when she found out we only met
once a month.

I have a feeling they will remember.
At least some of it.

The Clue of the Broken Locket next month.
Feel free to read along with us!

Hodge Podge

The girls and I watched this last night.
Such a classic.
Jack Lemmon is one of my favorites.

Getting ready for my Nancy Drew class.
Dig that cover.
Nancy should stick to solving mysteries.

Loving my mantle in the hearth room.
Joy made the yummy frou frou swag.
Robin made the darling button pumpkin.
Somebody forgot to make-over the pink bunny.

Preparing for our next American Girl class, too.
Fun creations for our next meeting!
I love reusing our catalogs.
Kit would be proud.

I want to try this!

Pumpkin-licious Nog (1 cup= 110 calories and 2 grams of fat)

5 cups light vanilla soymilk
1 small (4 serving) package sugar-free fat-free instant vanilla
pudding mix
6 no-caloirs sweetener packets
2/3 cup canned pure pumpkin
1 tsp rum extract (skipping this)
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high until
thoroughly mixed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to
allow it to thicken.

If you like, top off each glass with a sprinkling of cinnamon.
Enjoy!
