That big lilac bush by the back door that we had to toss the kitchen dish-washing water onto after doing up the supper dishes? I'm sure it was all that dishwater that made it bloom like a crazy thing. One of these days, I am going to get digging in my yard (hey, we've only been here 6 years, I don't want to rush things), and make a place in this hard-pan clay that will help a lilac survive.
