About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you!    Lovely Birdie Swappers!  It's almost time to send off your fabulous Birdie Swap packages, if you have not already done so.  This Wednesday, March 25th is the deadline.  Did I mention that if you send your package on time AND your partner receives it by March 30th you will be entered in a drawing for a PRIZE?:)  **Please be sure to let me know when you send/receive your swap goodies so I can enter you in the drawing!

**Please Note:  A few of you have told me that you sent your swap packages already.  Thank you so much!  But, I checked with your partners and some told me that they did not receive a package yet???  So, please double check with you partner to make sure they got their package.  I can not put your name in the drawing unless your partner has gotten their goodies...**

One Rainy Day

It was a cool and rainy day today- just like I like em'.:)  Katie participated in her first art show and it was such fun seeing her picture displayed for the public!  Hers is the one on the right- "Beautiful Bird House."

This is another different type of kaleidoscope.  Gorgeous.

Look at the chocolates in the case!  You know we had to buy some on our way out.:)

This is the front of the shop.  It appears that this used to be a soda fountain.  I imagine that years ago this used to be an establishment similar to the the one that Jimmy Stewart worked in (when he was a boy) in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life."  A malt shop!  That's it!

After looking at the art, we went next door to the most wonderful quilt shop.  Oh my goodness, we were in there for the longest time!

The fabrics were luscious, the people were friendly, and I never wanted to leave...

   And they had BUTTONS!

We walked down the old, rickety stairs to the basement (where all their clearance items are held) and found an old safe where they kept oodles of new fabrics.  Katie was pretending that we were stuck in the basement and that we had to find a secret passageway through the vault.  It's all those Nancy Drew mysteries, I tell you.  LOVE it.

There were quilts everywhere!  One could not help but be inspired by all the colors, fabrics, textures and books.
I applied for a frequent shoppers card.  Guess I better learn how to sew.

Happy Birthday Jes!

Jes is one of the sweetest people I know and today is her BIRTHDAY!  She is a precious friend, a fellow home schooler, an incredibly gifted artist, and loves God.  Oh, and she adores the little birdies, too- tweet tweet!  Please stop by her blog today and wish her a Happy Birthday. You'll feel like you've made a new friend.:)

Tostitos with a Hint of Jalapeno!

I bought these yesterday at Target- just for fun.  I just opened the bag and can't stop eating them!  Somebody stop me!  It's like a fiesta in your mouth- YUM!:)

Tonight

I am so curious.  What are your plans for tonight?  Anyone going to Borders for their Twilight party (starts at 10:00)?  How about Wal Mart at midnight?  Maybe you just plan on renting it later?

Sensational Swap and a Craft for all those Eggs...

I received the loveliest package from my partner, Michele, in the Color Swap hosted by Jes.  Talk about gorgeous!  I told Michele that my favorite colors were robin's egg blue and chocolate brown, plus she knew that I loved birds and nests.:)  Look at what she created for me!  My favorite item is the gorgeous bird's nest tassel with the vintage rhinestones- breathtaking!

Precious robin's eggs in the sweetest basket!

Look at the brown and blue bracelet!  Love it!  Thank you so much, Michele!

Here is a fun craft for you to try.  It's a great way to use every day items (at least at my house) that may or may not drive you crazy....
These eggs should be at the end, but blogger had other ideas.  This is the end product.  Pretty, no?

Creating these sparkly eggs involves getting out your trusty glue gun.  What would we do without them?

Do you have a bunch of these guys lying around?  We have 3, 146.  I counted.  I love stepping on them in the middle of the night.  Don't you?

How about these plastic eggs that seem to multiply in storage?  They need a makeover.  Take your trusty glue gun and glue the clear plastic beads to your eggs.  I tried to use the same style of bead and it looked very polished.  That's it.  Lovely in an apothocary jar.
Put in your movie rental.  Twilight, perhaps?:)  And then heat up your glue gun.  Good times.
