Fishers if Men

I am so proud of both my girls, but I would like to share what is weighing heavily on my oldest daughter's heart right now.  Mandy told me that a friend of hers does not believe in God and this worries her.  Mandy said that she really wants to help her friend become a Christian.  During church the other Sunday, our minister was preaching about being "fishers of men."  Mandy, bless her heart, was listening and shared this with him today (she had been anxiously waiting to speak to him for some guidance) and he just reached out and hugged her!  He told her that "it's always good to hear that someone is listening."  Mandy is an inspiration to both Jeff and me- as well as others.  She knows what is right and is not afraid to speak the truth.  I pray that one day I can be so strong in my convictions.  If you get a second, could you please remember Mandy and her friend in your prayers?  God is going to work miracles through Mandy, I just know it.  I am so proud of her.

  1. Aren't kids wonderful in this way? So open and concerned.

I still remember when Maria realized around age 6 that there are people that don't believe the same things we do...she dragged over some poor child I didn't even know at this homeschool function and said, "MOM! This boy says that God's name is JEHOVAH and he doesn't want us to have BIRTHDAY PARTIES!" heehee. The whole room went deathly silent while I stammered my way through that one.

  2. Mandy has such a sweet spirit and a caring heart for others. Tell her to keep praying and we will be praying for them also.
