Trailblazers

Sometimes I see myself like the Dad's girlfriend in "The Parent Trap".  I'm not hateful like her, but when it comes to nature (remember when they took her camping?!) I am one big weenie.  Today I decided to buck up and suggest a nature hike.  Hey, if I can bring my camera along I can do almost anything.  Off we went, and I am so glad we did...

My two little trailblazers.  Mandy is always up for an adventure and trying new things.  Katie just wants to be with her big sister.:-)

Look ladies!  Leaves are falling!  Get out your pumpkins and decorate!:-)

I loved this lonely little red mushroom.

After the hike, it felt so good to put our toes in the water!  Of course, some toes are cuter than others.  That's one reason why I am the family photographer.:-)

We will all sleep well tonight.  Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend, too.

  4. I loved your nature hike. It's great your girls enjoy being together and can enjoy family outings like this. Our leaves are not falling yet but the evenings are getting darker earlier and the early mornings are much cooler. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.

  5. I'm laughing about how you "bucked up" and went hiking! I'm so happy you stepped out of your element and went for it. I love hiking...Not crazy about camping but do love day hikes. There is so much beauty out there that people need to get out and get in to!
    The photo's are fabulous!
    Wish I was there.
