Surely Goodness and Mercy
It was quite a day today. We got to take a trip to the ER with my little gymnast. It was all my fault, too. You see, I was trying to help Katie with her backbend kick-overs and she ended up hitting her head (full force) from a standing position. I heard the most horrible cracking/popping sound and I swear my heart stopped. Time stood still. It was all my idea to practice in the living room (it's carpeted), dear friends. Thankfully, she is fine, but let me tell you I PRAYED. We probably could have skipped the trip to the hospital, but I just had to KNOW that she was alright. It's amazing how small you feel when your children are hurt, especially when they are in your care. What would we do without the Lord?
Oh my goodness, Lori! I am so glad that she is okay.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, the Lord is good!!!
Oh Lori
ReplyDeleteSorry you've had a scare with Katie. It was best you had her checked out at the ER. Something similar happened with Jessica once, I will e-mail you about it. So glad she is ok.

((((((((((Lori and family)))))))))))) things happen sweety there is no ones fault in this case. I am soo glad she is alright! And to be honest I ghave no idea what we would do without Him!
ReplyDeleteOh, Lori, I'm so glad to hear that she's alright! It's amazing how quickly something like that can happen. I remember all too well when Brittany was about almost two years old and I sat her on the counter at TJ MAXX so I could write my check. In the blink of an eye, she pushed herself backwards off the counter and hit her head. One of the worst days of my life! Thankfully, by God's grace, she was fine. I prayed non-stop, too!
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved that Katie is okay. And I agree that it is a comfort to know that God is in control!
ReplyDeleteOh my Lori, I'm so glad she's okay. I know what you mean, my 4 year old scraped her elbows on a slide and she cried hysterically for hours. Ya know though, I figured out she was freaking out from the fear of the pain (taking bandaids on and off, etc.) and not the pain itself. But I felt sooo bad not being able to help her more. Anyway, glad she's okay.

My own heart skipped a beat as I read this. You definitely did the right thing to take her in for your own peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteTender Mercies of the Lord. : )
I am so glad she is alright! You are right. I hate that helpless feeling, at least you do have prayer. Sometimes it is all you have! Have a great weekend, maybe skip the gymnastist for a bit!
