We stepped back in time the other day...
My girls had a great time seeing what it was like to be "Laura Ingalls" for the day.:)
Do you think it would be fun to step back in time? I spoke with Elise the other day and she told me she would be game.:) How about you?

Hi Lori
ReplyDeleteYour field trips looks to have been a great experience. They all look to be enjoying their day. I love the old white school house and the bonnets. Yes, I think I would like to step back in time with you and Elise. It looks like a fun experience. I would prefer to go back in time rather than forward in time. Would you?

So cool, our children go to "Pioneer School" in the third grade for a whole day, they dress the part, take their lunch in a metal pail, which includes fruit, muffins, beef jerky, etc... They have a great time!
ReplyDeleteI'm in too! What wonderful photos you got of the event.
ReplyDeleteBTW: Amanda's hair looks beautiful in the back on the header photo. That is a darling picture of the girls.
Love,
Me~♥
I think that would be AWESOME! What a neat concept. I really love it. Did you amke the outfits or are they part of the field trip??
ReplyDeleteWe lived in OK for 2 years, in 3rd grade they did an outside school day/class to remember the land rush. All 3rd graders in the state participated. We were so disappointed b/c the year we moved there they ditched the idea because it wasn't pc. :-(
Oh, I would have of enjoyed that immensely! I just loved watching Little House as a girl and would dream about wearing bonnets and carrying my books tied with a belt...lol. What a fabulous experience for the girls!

p.s. ok..maybe not the outhouse so much..but the rest of it looks great! :-)
Oh, Lori How awesome!! We have a place here in our area called CrossRoads Village where they moved some old prominent peoples houses and businesses from long ago. Our children go there too for a day and dress like that! You know I love these kind of things!!! Your girls are just to cute!! XO Fran.
ReplyDeleteVal- The girls dressed in dresses that they wore one year for Halloween. I love it when you can use things again.:) We were encouraged to dress authentically and I really believe it added to the day. We packed our lunch in a basket and everything was wrapped in napkins. No plastic bags, tinfoil, etc. I got desperate with the drinks, though- lol! Some people brought their drinks in glass jars! Lori
ReplyDeleteHow much fun... I was looking at Little HOuse on the Prairie DVD's for my girls for Christmas. Pa makes me cry at any time. What a great time you all had!
