Food as a Drug

***The giveaway on my Too Silly Sisters facebook page ends at
midnight tonight. Check it out!***

I want to thank you all so much for your encouragement. You guys rock! I am more than thrilled that some of you are going on this journey to health with me. Yeah for you! I wanted to let you know that I have come to find that food is a drug for me. Scary stuff. Eating is acceptable but when it controls your life there is something wrong. I used to lay in bed dreading getting up in the morning, but if I knew a bagel or Reese's Puffs cereal was waiting for me I was up! Since God has taken over I no longer feel this way. Now I think about what I am going to DO every day! The world is brighter and possibilities are endless. Praise the Lord!
Dining out. Love, Love, LOVE IT. Food is prepared for me and I don't have to clean up. What's not to like? Just because you are eating healthy does not mean you have to stop eating out. You just have to pay attention. Here are some healthy and yummy options!

Chik Fil A Southwest Salad
Mmmmmm! Tender and a bit spicy pieces of chicken, veggies, corn/bean relish! Skip the tortilla strips and the Spicy dressing. Opt for the Raspberry vinaigrette instead- it's YUM! 352 calories and 7 grams of fat!

Taco Bell Fresco Chicken Soft Taco
Chicken, tomatoes, lettuce! Sounds a bit bland, but put on some salsa
and it's really good! No cheese on this guy but you won't miss it! 150
calories and 3 grams of fat!

Mimi's Cafe!!

My favorite! Chicken, Fruit, and Baby Greens Salad! Unbelievably delicious! Could not find a picture.:( Chicken, tomatoes, pieces of honeydew, dried cranberries and more. Delicious dressing. You will love this salad! Comes with one of their sinful muffins. Give it to your kids.:) 240 calories and 8 grams of fat.

So, where are you going to eat today?;)

  1. Thanks for the tips. I ordered a chicken salad wrap thing at MDs today, when we stopped in. Didn't like it a bit. :( Poo. I was trying to do better, but I really dislike giving up *tasty* foods!!
The salad looks divine. I'm trying to eat "raw" more often!!

  2. O'Charley's has a California Chicken Salad that I just love. You can leave off the blue cheese crumbles if you want, to save a few calories.

  3. By the looks of that chicken salad, it could very well be Chick Fil-A! :):)

  4. You should get the weight watchers new magazine - it has some great dishes and so easy to prepare. I love Mimi's too :) Happy eating "lite" today.

  8. Those are GREAT healthy options!

I'm also trying to adjust my thoughts about eating...eating to live, not living to eat! I'm not calling it a "diet", just a new lifestyle.

Praying for all of us! It takes more than our own strength to make changes like this!

  9. Great options for eating out!
My downfall is carbs! I am such a carb addict, especially pasta and bread!
I try not to eat too much of that at home, but if we go out to eat, then I treat myself to the bread! And I try to stay away from appetizers and have grilled salmon for my entree.

My latest addiction is Greek yogurt! Not very many calories and supposedly good for me. And DELICIOUS! Smooth, and rich, and creamy!
So far I'm down five pounds. So we'll see.
Best of luck to you! God Bless!
    Love to you,
    Eileen
