Miracle for Jen book review and giveaway!

April is the winner of the Miracle for Jen book!  Congratulations, April!:)

On November 5, 2006 everything changed for the Barrick family.  Through their experience you will be blessed beyond understanding.  Each member was seriously injured in a drunk driving tragedy (the car hit them at 80 miles an hour) but it was their 15 year old daughter, Jennifer, who was not expected to survive.  The weeks and months that followed were long and exhausting as the family tried desperately to heal.  They prayed and prayed that Jennifer would open her eyes.  What eventually did happen will make you look at your life and ponder the times you have asked God, "Why?  If You love me, why did You allow this to happen?"  In the words of Jennifer, "The Lord doesn't waste trials.  He has a plan and a purpose for everything."
I was moved to tears many times while reading Miracle for Jen.  But you know what?  Most of the time they were tears of JOY!  The Barrick family wanted to get back to "normal" after their tragedy, but God had something better in mind!  It was not an easy road, by any means, but through their faith I was greatly strengthened in mine.  I am really going to try, as I go through life, to not ask the Lord "Why?" bad things are happening to me, but rather praise Him.  If Jen Barrick can praise the Lord during and after all that she has experienced, then I have no excuse.  "Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for it is God's will for you who belong to Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  8. Glad I found this site. I needed to be reminded that "God does not waste trials". We are going through a difficult season and it is hard not to wonder why God chose this for us. Just not sure how this all works for his glory. It was encouraging to read those words and to be reminded that he will not waste a trial on one who's heart is yoked with his. I will be keeping my eye out for this book either way.
