happy monday

Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist is the coziest book and one of my personal favorites.  It reads like a visit with a dear friend.  Delightful life stories and crazy awesome recipes are shared- along with giggles and a few tears.  The pages of my book are stuck together with spilled balsamic vinegar and multiple sticky notes wave hello.  Yes, it's been well loved and thoroughly enjoyed.  The other night I treated my family to the Green Well Salad .  It was a a huge bowl of salad and I didn't want to share one mouthful.  Not one.  Rotisserie chicken, dried cherries, goat cheese, pears, red grapes, and caramelized onions with the dreamiest (and simple!) vinaigrette dressing.  Are you drooling yet?

Open Houses.  Do you love them as much as I do?  Thought you might like to take a peek at a charming log cabin we toured today.  Log cabins aren't my personal favorite but this one had such nice touches- and a pool in the back, too.;)

Isn't it charming?

Currently reading this.  It's really inspiring with fresh ideas that make a lot of sense.  Implementing some ideas from the first chapter tonight.  It's always fun when I can break out the markers and glitter.:)

The snow is still here.  We survived our bout of cabin fever and I'm ready for another snow storm.  All stocked up on TP and my wonderful husband rounded up more firewood!  Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

A peek at my girls' play house bay window.  My husband built it for them years ago...

Mockingbirds.  Bossy little birdies but they sure are cute!  This handsome fellow stopped by long enough for my to get his picture.  Precious.

  1. I just love this photo of your kids play house window. My dad built me one of these when i was a little girl, and I spent many happy hours playing in this. It had a cute bay window too. also, that salad looks delicious. Am going to get the stuff and make one of these today! Or at least my version!

  5. Hi Lori, I can't believe you still have snow. Loved seeing Katie out there enjoying it and the cute mockingbird too. I love log cabins for holidays but it wouldn't see right for a regular home somehow. That one looks really cosy. Did you get a picture of the pool too? Stay warm. Lindsay x

  7. That salad does sound delish, Lori :) I read it to my hubby, and I hope we have something like it soon. I love a log cabin like that too -- for a vacation, a cozy, quiet time away. Stay warm and hope for Spring !!
