all tucked in

...under a blanket of snow.

Delightful.

Our day was spent coloring in window seats...

Working on puzzles...

Doing a bit of school work- but not too much.

After all, it was a snow day.:)

I read 4 exciting pages by the fire.  (Hoping to accomplish more this evening.)
I can't seem to master the art of shelling pistachios and holding a book at the same time.

I watched Matthew McConaughey's Oscar speech today.  Absolutely wonderful.  And no apologies for thanking God.  Wow.

I'm tired of hearing about the movie Frozen, though.  I fell asleep while watching it.
  Oops.

  1. The cold front that came through here also left us some snow. It was bitter cold all weekend but the sun is shining today and has melted most of the snow. Glad to see it go. Enjoy your snow day with your children. It's a great time to relax.

  2. It was a wonderfully cozy day there! We have a fire in our woodstove; soapstone has such a lovely radiant heat. A day of housework, cooking, art, reading. Anxious for winter to go away, though --- so cold. So ready for spring.

  4. That window seat looks a wonderful place to relax, read, enjoy watching the world go by. Especially when it's shared by a cat (or two!)

  5. Hey Lori!

I'm glad you are enjoying the snow and I am somewhat envious of you right now. School for me has been super duper busy but I'm sure I'll manage somehow! I'm also been very busy dealing with the rain and hopefully the sun comes out soon. Aside from all that, I've been busy with household chores, recycling plastic bottles, writing my story, church, hanging out with my friends, and photography class.

Anyway, I hope you are enjoying life in the snow with your family!

  6. Tristan,

I never seen the movie but all of my friends said it was interesting. They are currently trying to convert me to watching it.

  7. I fell asleep last night watching Thor 2. I am anxious to see Frozen, but we don't have it to rent here, yet. It's not uncommon for me to go to sleep during a movie. Ah well. Such is life.

  8. Dear friends- I did enjoy Frozen- just not to the extent of all the hype it's been receiving. It's a wonderful adventure and the characters are lovable. The music is good but, to be honest, I didn't really love "Let it Go". Sorry! I'm ready for it be done. Hope you still love me.:) Lori

  9. I love the picture of your daughter. Perfect. all tucked in with a kitty by her side. I loved those cozy winter days at home with my kids. Frozen was a good movie, but I agree, not worth all the hype.

  10. Lori,

Of course all of your loyal blog followers will still probably love you even if you didn't really enjoy a few things from the movie Frozen. I am trying so hard not to see anymore princess movies now that I am a lot older.

  13. That sounds like a wonderful day for schooling at home. I love coloring in a window seat. I haven't seen Frozen either, but we're always about 7 years behind in seeing movies! Our weather is much warmer now, and the days of snuggling in a blanket at home working puzzles is over until next winter!
