A.D. The Bible Continues The Book of Acts by Dr. David Jeremiah

My Thoughts:

I was quite anxious to review this book as the pastor of my church is currently preaching about Acts and touching on the compelling television series as well. A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book of Acts provides an easy to read guide through this thrilling part of the Bible. It really brought the disciples to life for me! If the Bible is a bit intimidating to you as it often is to me I highly recommend getting your hands on this book. Dr. David Jeremiah clearly explains the time just prior to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection all the way through to Paul's arrival in Rome. Triumphs, tragedies, and trials are all part of the disciple's journey to spread the message of Jesus.

In addition, Dr. Jeremiah features the key players and themes in the book of Acts. Individual pages highlight Strengths and Accomplishments, Lessons from their Life, Vital Statistics and more. Stephen, Mary Magdalene, Peter, Paul, Timothy, Luke, Cornelius, Herod Agrippa I and many more are mentioned.

The book ends with a discussion of the Second Coming of Jesus (Are you ready for his return? Are you saved?), A Call to Action ("go and make disciples of all nations. teach these new disciples to obey all my commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28: 19-20) as well as an Appendix of Maps and Favorite Verses.

This book was such a blessing to my heart. I truly enjoyed reading about the book of Acts and how God worked miracles through his disciples. Each man was hand selected by God to fulfill a daunting task. Teaching about Jesus, sharing His love, and venturing to places where they knew their lives were in danger. I loved reading this book with my family!

Before I end this review, I have to ask you. Are you saved? Do you know the Lord as your Savior? I'd love to hear from you if you have questions. (toosillysisters@cox.net) It just takes a simple prayer to the Lord. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart. God loves you and is waiting to hear from you! "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6

  1. Here's a thought to ponder. The Book of Acts shows the coming of the Holy Spirit; those of us who are filled with God (what a glorious thing!!!) are still "writing" Acts.

I enjoyed your review. Have a most blessed and beautiful day. He's coming soon --- all this and then heaven, too!
