The Help and a NEW BOOK

Hey Girlies! I just finished this AMAZING book! Have any of you read it? The characters are so well written and the story will make you laugh (a lot) and cry, too. It will make you feel- and think. I do not do well with change, but it will make you question what *could* make you go against everything you have ever known. If you have read it, what do you think Mae Mobley will be like when she grows up? What will happen to Minny and her children? Will she keep working for the same lady? Will Skeeter be happy in New York? Abilene- my favorite- what will become of her? I want to discuss.... Such a wonderful book club selection!

Ooooooh, I have missed you all! We just got back from Disney World (and you know I have a ton of pics to share) but life is getting in the way of my blogging!

Be patient with me, dear friends, I will be back soon! Oh, and did you hear that Stephanie Meyer has a NEW BOOK?:)

Happy Birthday, Lindsay!

I want to wish my dear sister, Lindsay, a Happy Birthday today! Lindsay and I are the dearest of friends that have become family.:) We are kindred spirits that have so much in common! She may even be coming for a visit this summer!!! Do you know how excited I am about that??!!!! Happy Birthday, Lindsay! I hope your special day is amazingly fabulous- just like you.:)

Firefly Hill

I have had a few requests for pictures of Ruby. She is such a girlie girl and did not mind having a photo shoot.;)

Oh my goodness! Sweet Annie at Firefly Hill was kind enough to send me the most gorgeous leash I have ever seen! You must stop by her shop and treat your pet! Annie's home is a dream and her shop is an absolute treat for the eyes. Look at the colors and fabrics! Annie, thank you so very much.:)

Katie immediately took Ruby for a walk to show off her new leash.

Ruby is on a diet (poor baby) but this was one sweet treat she could enjoy!

Yee Haw!

Mandy's acting class put on the most amazing hillbilly jamboree last night!

It was full of music, dancing and lots and lots of comedy!

Here is Mandy as Little Red Hillbilly Hat.:) (The hillbilly version of Little Red Riding Hood.) The boy with the blanket in front of him is the wolf pretending to be Grandma!

I was a bit skeptical of the hillbilly theme, but it was FABULOUS! I laughed until I had tears coming down my face! I can't wait to go again tonight.:)

Ruby is officially part of our family. She fits right in. She loves sleeping, eating and snuggling.:)

Ruby is the sweetest dog I have ever met. She loves being loved on. She comes when we call her name, stays with us when we go outside (without a leash!) and loves it when we are all together. She has not even had one accident. Love. Her.

We adopted her from a Pug Rescue group. They think that she had been a breeder dog her whole life so she was not very social at first. Quite shy. Her foster "Daddy" was very patient with her and she is now quite a little social butterfly with us!

Ruby is a senior Pug. She is 8 years old. Puppies are darling, but I think that there is something very special about senior Puggies. No chewing, just sweet Puggie snores.:) If you are thinking of adding a pet to your lives, please don't count out sweet seniors. I'm so glad we didn't.

Today we took Ruby to a Pug Party! They even had an Easter egg hunt for the Pugs!

I have never seen so many Pugs in one place. After the party, she could barely keep her eyes open.:)

UPDATE- Ruby is here! She is having a sleepover with us.:) She is a snuggy puggy but oh so very shy..... She is *not* potty trained, though. bum bum bum..... Gotta work on that. Love her already.

This is Ruby. She is coming to visit us this week. I hope she'll want to be part of our family. I already have her leash picked out here. I'll keep you posted. We have to see what the cat has to say about this...
