Ruby is officially part of our family. She fits right in. She loves sleeping, eating and snuggling.:)
Ruby is the sweetest dog I have ever met. She loves being loved on. She comes when we call her name, stays with us when we go outside (without a leash!) and loves it when we are all together. She has not even had one accident. Love. Her.
We adopted her from a Pug Rescue group. They think that she had been a breeder dog her whole life so she was not very social at first. Quite shy. Her foster "Daddy" was very patient with her and she is now quite a little social butterfly with us!
Ruby is a senior Pug. She is 8 years old. Puppies are darling, but I think that there is something very special about senior Puggies. No chewing, just sweet Puggie snores.:) If you are thinking of adding a pet to your lives, please don't count out sweet seniors. I'm so glad we didn't.
Today we took Ruby to a Pug Party! They even had an Easter egg hunt for the Pugs!
I have never seen so many Pugs in one place. After the party, she could barely keep her eyes open.:)
How wonderful for you, your family and Ruby! Lucky Pug!! She will bring you all so much joy :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your newest addition!!

Lori...Ruby hit the jackpot when you and your family came along...and I'm certain you could say the same about her. I agree completely, there's something so special about older dogs who so often get overlooked. Ruby is such a sweetheart and I can tell that she's won the hearts of everyone...mine included! :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! Great photos! How wonderful that you were able to adopt her. We may be adopting a Basset Hound. I will bring her over to meet our Lab this week.
ReplyDeleteThe pug party and egg hunt is so cute! I'm so glad Ruby has a wonderful family now! She is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is WONDERFUL that you rescued Ruby. Puppy mills are HORRID places and if she lived in those conditions she has truly found the best home imaginable with you. I'm sure you will all share lots and lots of love together.
ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteYou have done an amazing thing by adopting a senior dog! There are so many unwanted animals in this world and usually people go for the puppies or the designer combos that are so popular right now. We adopted a senior dog from a shelter a few years ago...she was 9 years old and "owner relinquished".
Can you imagine turning in your dog to the shelter after 9 years? She was a sweet thing and we loved her dearly. I want to send you all a complimentary leash in honor of Ruby's adoption into your family. Email me at fireflyhill@comcast.net and lets discuss colors! I think you all are awesome for doing this!
xo,
