About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Becoming Bea by Leslie Gould

My Thoughts:

Becoming Bea is the story of a young lady who loves books, journal writing and cats, but people- not so much.  At the beginning of the book she's in a quandary trying to find a job or be doomed to traveling with her domineering sister, Molly, on a trip to Montana.  She's thrilled when an opportunity arises to care for newborn triplets.  Much to her chagrin, Ben Rupp, a young man she'd attempted to court, seems to always pop up when she least expects it.  And then a surprise (Don Eicher) comes on the scene and things get interesting...

Becoming Bea begins slowly and it took me awhile to get into the story.  I found Bea a bit too prickly for my liking in the beginning, but was patient and loved her transformation through the book story.  I was intrigued by Ben Rupp from the start and found it hard to understand why Bea detested him so much.  Leslie Gould's first book in the series, Courting Cate, is one of my Amish favorites.  I enjoyed it so much that I've purchased copies to give to friends.  Becoming Bea was also enjoyable with Bea being a very unique young lady who just needs a bit of time and experience to help her grow into a lovely woman.

About the book: Can Bea and Ben Turn Rivalry Into Romance?

Beatrice Zook knows God wants her to learn patience toward others. When assisting a family overwhelmed by triplets proves surprisingly successful, her confidence in dealing with others, both young and old, grows.

One person she'll never be able to find peace with though is Ben Rupp. They've known each other forever, and Ben understands precisely how to antagonize her. What neither she nor Ben will admit is that beneath all their bickering, attraction awaits. When friends decide to try and bring the couple together, will the pair be able to find true love? Or will they damage their relationship beyond repair?
