About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Auntie Amy

Today is the last day to sign up
for my Polka Dot Swap...

My sister flew home today. It was not
easy letting her go.

We are different in many ways. This week
we discovered how much we have in common.

We can both roll our tongues. Can you?

We have the same sense of humor!
We both need our quiet time, too. We
love the same movies (Goonies, Karate Kid,
Princess Bride), watermelon, Twilight,
Red Vines, hate clowns, baby leashes and
Celery Lemonade (inside joke).

Amy loved on Ruby this week,
traded Silly Bandz with Mandy and
Katie and played a million board games
with them, too.
I beat her at Smarty Pants- this time.
She took amazing pictures and stayed
up late learning to make jewelry. She
is a natural, but I was not surprised.

Amy told me she just wanted to relax and
hang with us. It was our pleasure.

I'm not big on fireworks at home but I
do love sparklers. Do you write your name
in sparkler? I do.

The 4th was lovely. We watched fireworks from
our backyard and it was awesome. Gorgeous
explosions rose above the trees. No crowds,
just bouquets in the sky.

Mmmmm....
We did have this much fun.

Memories are made of this.:)

Ruby hid in the van. Fireworks are scary.

My newest passion...

Sisters do grow up to be friends.

Miss you, Amy.

Lori!
It's been ages since I've been here. Time with your sister was well spent! Any time cupcakes are involved, it is time well spent. ;) Those look super yummy.
I missed the deadline to your swap, and I'm bummed 'cause it sounds like fun!
Before I run off, your hair is GORGEOUS. I love it. I have curly hair, too, and I can appreciate the time that goes into making it pretty (it's so hard sometimes!!)

You are so blessed to have such a close relationship with your sister- I must admit I am just a little jealous!
Our little dog Daisy is terrified of fireworks too- she hides in the bathtub!

Lore, thank you for bringing our vacation to life! You were so thoughtful to put this together, and (*blush*) I'm only seeing this now because I had your new (um, I guess it's old now) blog bookmarked. Ack! Thanks again for all of the love and care you put into my visit. I wouldn't want to be anywhere in the world more than chez Drake. I miss and love you all so much. I'm getting rave reviews on all the creative projects you taught me! Wyatt is doodling away on his chalkboard and was kind enough to share with his younger brother.
