Ballet, Archery and the Duggars

We have our windows open at night now.

Katie and her ballet buddies...

I can't get over how this looks so effortless.

Amanda is enjoying her archery classes. It's amazing how

important form is and how much time they spend working on it.

The target is 25 feet away.

Mandy popped the balloon in the center and was so proud.

I almost did a cartwheel (in my mind)!

The classes are on a farm so there are goats, chickens, etc.

to feed and visit. Fun, until the chiggers and mosquitos come

out for a visit.

Bonfire birthday party. It was cold outside which was perfect!

BOO!

Katie and the birthday boy, Joshua. They played Nancy Drew together. Katie was Nancy and Joshua was Ned, her

boyfriend.:)

We met the Duggars tonight! Michelle is an absolute sweetheart.

I offered to take a few pictures of her and her little ones and then

she was kind enough take a picture with us. (I HATE this picture

of me, but I had to show you!)

When we got to the restaurant I saw there was a reservation for

TLC. 60 people. I was so puzzled. Who was TLC? The mystery

was solved once the Duggar family showed up!

They were filming an episode for their TV show! Fran- Is the

young man in red Kaitlin's young man?:)

Michelle told us it was Amy's (her niece) birthday and they

were there to celebrate. Originally it was supposed to be a

Girls' Night Out but then they found out it was Kid's Eat Free

this month.:)

Some of the children were working the equipment like the

cameras and microphones. It was so fun to see! If you are

a fan, be watching to see Amy's birthday celebration on TLC!

Lighthouse Family

Katie and I discovered a wonderful series of books this weekend.

The Lighthouse Family by Cynthia Rylant.

The books are about a little family made up of a cat, a dog and

some darling orphaned mice. The baby mouse is named "Tiny".:)

They all work together to tend a lighthouse and help friends in

need.

Perfect for ages 7 to 10 or Moms that would enjoy a precious

bedtime story. :)

What are you great at?

Homefront

We are currently studying World War II and reading the Molly,

an American Girl, books. What a amazing time in history! I can

do without the rationing, air raid drills, and Hitler, but so much

of it sounds utterly romantic!

I know it's not reality, but I LOVED this show! Homefront,

with Kyle Chandler, was a night time "soap" that I waited for

every week. The music, the romance, the red lipstick! Jeff was

such a good sport to watch it with me once we got married.

Sure wish they would release this series on DVD.

Anyone else remember?

Sweet Dreams

Felicity and Elizabeth dolls (American Girl) are being

retired at the end of December.

Elizabeth's bed is lovely (above) but quite expensive.

Jeff ordered the bedding and then made the bed and the

mattress yesterday.

Katie was the painter.:)

Here is the completed bed and one happy little girl!

I was so impressed! The bed is about $70 in the catalog

and Jeff made it for around $10.

God Always Has a Plan

We were a minute late for church today.

That's how we roll.

Katie has a friend spend the night.

Normally, this would be a great excuse to miss church.

Not anymore.

My Mom told me that the recent stressful events would end

up being something positive.

I wasn't sure.

She was right. She always is.:)

It has drawn me closer to God.

I want to read more about Him.

I want to be more active in church.

I want to live for the Lord, instead of

for myself.

I have a long way to go, but it's a start.

Something bad turned out to be something

very, very good.

Thank you for your prayers, dear friends.

The Secret

I just received my second hate mail letter of the day.

It did not have my name on it, but it is aimed at a group of people

that I am a part of and agree with.

This is the secret I was referring to in my last post. I wish it were

a better secret!

Sorry, no baby news!

A group of women and I took a stand that was very hard to take.

We agonized over it.

The ladies in charge are so exhausted from the hateful calls and

letters that they have asked me to take over for them.

It's wearing me down.

I can't go into the specifics, but I know that God is on our side and

that the choice is the best one for our children.

Please say a prayer that all will end well, dear friends. For everyone.

I am so glad to be an American where we can be free to speak our

minds. It's the hateful words that are so very hard to take.

What's Up...

Planning on making quilts with my girls baby clothes.

Started walking 2 miles a day. My neighbor told me I walked fast.

Made my day.

Feeling guilty when I don't agree with others. Even when I am

with the majority.

Happy the mean girl in gymnastics dropped out.

Looking forward to a bonfire at my friend's house. Still too

warm, though.

Loving e-mails from my sister who is visiting France. Today she

visited a place where she said the Volturi would live... if they

were French.:)

Marveling at what God thinks I can handle. He is never wrong.

Using my crock pot... a lot. Love that.

Itching to make Christmas gifts. But what?

Having a hard time keeping a secret.

Waiting for a late night thunderstorm.
