I'm tired. Exhausted, in fact. All my life I've tried to please others so they would like me. It's just who I am. A people pleaser and occasionally a door mat extraordinaire. A smiling chameleon. I can be whoever you want me to be.
Many (many) years ago my kindergarten teacher wrote in the comment section of my report card- "Lori needs to stop caring so much about what people think about her."
While walking this evening I realized this isn't the life God wants me to lead. He made me and loves me
all. the. time.
I can't earn His love.
I can't buy His love.
It's just simply, beautifully there for me.
Starting tomorrow I'm going to focus on my family. They love me, too. Much more than I deserve. Friends come and go but the Lord is with you forever.
Do you know how much you are loved? God adores you- treasures you- more than anyone ever could. You don't have to be thinner, more popular, have a nicer car, or even belong to the country club clique.
God loves you just the way you are.
No more smiling chameleon.
