About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! 9 on 10

9 on 10.
Arriving at church.
On time!

                         Children's church.
Discussed the Bible story- The Lady
       and the Alabaster Box.
She gave her most prized possession,
       precious oils, to Jesus.
She washed His feet with her tears
and dried them with her hair.
I had the children decorate a box
and place a piece of paper inside
that told what they would like to
       give Jesus.  Something that was
*very* special to them.  I told them
it did not have to be a material
item.  It could be their love,
trust, etc.  It was just between them
       and the Lord.

                              Lunch at Mellow Mushroom.
         Katie is not a fan.
Happy Meal for her and more pizza
         for the rest of us.:)

I really dig the art work there.
        Fun and very, very groovy.

Katie and I *love* our coupon time.
       I cut and she sorts.
We have quite the operation going.
She tries to get the coupons first.
That's not part of the deal.

                           100 degrees.
The ice rink did not even feel cold.

Mandy wears her ipod so she can star
      in her own video.
I know this because her Mom does the
      same thing.
Katie taught her friend to ice skate.
Wonder if there is hope for me.

I used to love to roller skate.
The crazy loud music, hoping to get
asked to skate "couple's skate" and
    all the calories burned.
Never thought about the last part back
    then...

              F'real.
     Make your own milk shakes.
They have a machine at the gas station!
The girls have been dying to try this.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup shakes for
them and Mint Chocolate Chip for Jeff.

I am ready for Fall.

Let's See What Develops...

Cool project for a sunny day.

You need Mr. Sunshine for this art project!

Purchase sun sensitive paper.  In a *very* shady area place arrange your items (we used bits of nature- flowers, blades of grass, seed pods, etc.).  It's very sensitive to light so work quickly.

Then lay your collage in the sun for 30 seconds- 1 minute.  Through trial and error you will get the look *you* desire.
You will want to make more than 1- they are lovely!

Place your paper in water (combined with a bit of lemon juice) for 30 seconds- 1 min.
          See the picture emerging?

Remove your masterpiece from the water
                  and let dry.

                        Bring some friends along.
       The more the merrier!

The works of art are pretty enough to frame!

Thanks again for inviting us, Angela!:)

Monte Carlo and M&M's

No camp.
No swim team.
No ballet.
No volunteering.

We finished our school work early.

And were off to see this...

Super, super, cute movie!

Summer in France.
No bad language. (shocker, I know!)
No, ahem, "excessive skin".
Chaste, sweet kisses(2).:)
Fun story line.

Not sure why it was rated PG.

We used our M&M's Movie Money!
Have you done this?

Specially marked boxes of M&M's (above) have free tickets, $$$ off tickets, and more.  EVERY box I bought had $3 off a ticket!  That's like 1/2 price tickets!  The lady next to me had 3 *FREE* tickets!

Buy M&M's at Wal Mart.
Check on-line for your prize.
Grab your candy and coupons and escape to the movies to get out of the heat!

I Forgot...

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend.
Love these smushy faces.

The light in the evening was glorious.
We even got some rain.  The girls danced in it.

I forgot how much I love fireworks.
Not the ones you light yourself.
The ones that make you tilt your head
      back and your mouth open.

                  They were all around us.
The girls wanted me to take pictures of
them but I could not stop trying to
capture the colors in the sky.

In the end, I just had to store the night
    in my mind.

Jeff made the most incredible cookies
and cream ice cream. I told him I did
    not like homemade ice cream.
Seems I forgot that I like that, too.

It was a lovely long weekend.

                                        Hope yours was, too.:)

Relax

Summertime.  And the living is easy.
Or so I thought.

I have never been so tired in my life.
My new hobby is falling asleep on the couch.

I have managed to fill every waking moment
            of summer with activity.
At the time it seemed like *such* a good
    idea.

This weekend we are going to relax.
With fireworks, movies, homemade ice cream,
and more happening when we choose.

Nothing has been planned and I could not
    be happier.

Hope your weekend is relaxing and filled
    with lots of fun.:)
