About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Friends, Food and Fireworks

Happy 4th of July everyone! It certainly has been a wonderful, and quite busy, weekend at our house! We invited some friends over for dinner...

Then we headed out to fireworks and FUN! (I love the look on Katie's face- sheer joy!)

Look at that sweet chocolate smile.:)

Mandy and Brennan chatting in the back seat...

The kids are getting tired of me and the camera (sound familiar?) but when I can get another adult involved it sometimes does the trick.:)

My sweet friend, Jackie, brought me gorgeous flowers from her garden. Love them!

I took a tip from the Four Reluctant Entertainers and set up a table for the kids on the back porch, so they could have their own "space". (Please forgive the wrinkles!)

Then I set up a table for the grown-ups inside. (More wrinkles- sigh...) This worked out perfectly!

I also made a ton of posies (thanks again, Chrissie!) this weekend! This one I made into a hair accessory...

Katie loved it and received so many compliments!

I used these alligator clips which I purchased at Hobby Lobby (half price- yippee!).

Then, on Friday, the girls had some friends over for a play date. Here are the "Katie Twins"! See their matching posies?:)

We served some fun sodas...

and lots of fresh fruit...

of course, there were lots of giggles...

and Wii playing...

crafts...

and smiles!:)

The girls all loved making these! Do you remember Spin Art? Such fun! I thought they were a perfect craft since they look like fireworks!

All in all, we have had such fun! Now, I need a nap.:)

Did you set off fireworks at home or did you go to a show?

Hi Lori
I enjoyed seeing your pictures from 4th July and your girls play date. It looks like there's been lots of fun at your house these last few days. I loved seeing your tables beautifully set and ready. Seeing you all doing crafts brought back lots of memories for me as Jessica used to love making things when she was younger. We had the cool paint spinner thingy too!
