About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! The Wedding Dress Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Four brides.  One dress.  A century old trunk welded shut "by a girl with a broken heart".  Thus begins The Wedding Dress, by Rachel Hauck.  The book binds four love stories, spanning 100 years, that are tied together in the most unique and mysterious of ways.

The Wedding Dress is a dash of mystery, a large slice of romance and a smidgen of history all tied up with a lovely bow!  The main character, Charlotte, is very real and I enjoyed spending time with her as I read the story.  At the beginning, I felt that the history of the dress "belonging" to people and never changing was a bit cheesy but then came to realize that it was symbolic of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Rachel Hauck states, "It never wears out.  It fits everyone who tries it on.  It doesn't need to be altered.  It's always in style."  Beautiful and so true.

The Wedding Dress is full of romance, mystery and four lovely brides.  I brought it everywhere with me in the hopes that I could sneak in a page or two!  Delightful!

One dress. Four women. An amazing destiny.

Charlotte Malone is getting married. Yet all is not settled in the heart of Birmingham's chic bridal boutique owner. Charlotte can dress any bride to perfection-except herself. When she discovers a vintage mint-condition wedding gown in a battered old trunk, Charlotte embarks on a passionate journey to discover the women who wore the gown before her.
Emily in 1912. Mary in 1939. And Hillary in 1968. Each woman teaches Charlotte something about love in her own unique way. Woven within the threads of the beautiful hundred-year-old gown is the truth about Charlotte's heritage, the power of faith, and the beauty of finding true love.
