About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Spirit Fighter book review and GIVEAWAY!

Shawnee is the winner!  Congratulations!

Spirit Fighter is the thrilling first book in a series created for tweens/teens by Jerel Law.  Jonah Stone, the main character, is a 7th grader that feels like he can't do anything right.  Life is just not going his way at the moment until he discovers something quite amazing about himself and his siblings.  They are all part angel- 1/4 to be exact!  Their mother is the daughter of a human and a fallen angel.  Exciting information that is just about to get frightening...  Just as Jonah starts to enjoy his new "abilities" (incredible strength) and meets his guardian angel he finds out that his Mom has been kidnapped by evil fallen angels.  Only Jonah and his sister, Eliza, can save her and that means a perilous journey to New York City.  Danger awaits at almost every corner from cougars possessed by demons to little old ladies with "yellow eyes".  It's hard to know who they can and can't trust, but they always know that they can trust God.

In a day where magic and mayhem are captivating youth, Jerel Law has written an exciting book with the theme of good versus evil that includes the Bible.  Angels and demons are very real and Spirit Fighter will both enthrall and intrigue it's readers!  The journey that Jonah and Eliza make to rescue their mother is frightening and they constantly have to fight to stay alive.  They can even smell evil (smells like old trash!).  Thankfully, their guardian angel, Henry, is along with them to help guide and protect.  He's not always able to be there, though, as the other members of their family also need his protection...

Description

“In his exciting debut novel, Jerel Law transports readers to a place where supernatural forces of good and evil collide. Young readers will be entertained and inspired by Spirit Fighter. I heartily recommend it.” —Robert Whitlow, bestselling author of the Tides of Truth series
Percy Jackson, move over! Jonah Stone is here!
What if Nephilim—the children of angels and men—still walked the earth? And their very presence put the entire world in danger? In Spirit Fighter, Jonah and Eliza Stone learn that their mother is a Nephilim and that they have special powers as quarter-angels. When their mom is kidnapped by fallen angels, they must use those powers to save her.  Along the way, they discover that there is a very real and dangerous war going on between good and evil and that God has a big part for them to play in that war.
Parents today are looking for fiction that makes Christianity and the Bible exciting for their kids. This series is the Christian answer to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, The Secret Series and other middle-grade series packed with adventure, action, and supernatural fights. Son of Angels, Jonah Stone will be the first series in the market to explore this topic from a biblical perspective with content that is appropriate and exciting for middle-grade readers.
“Jerel Law has crafted a fantastic story that will leave every reader wanting more. Stop looking for the next great read in fantasy fiction for young readers—you’ve found it!” —Robert Liparulo, bestselling author of Dreamhouse Kings and The 13th Tribe
