My Thoughts About The Lesson:
The Lesson, by Suzanne Woods Fisher, is the third book in her Stoney Ridge Season series. Each book- The Keeper, The Haven and The Lesson is absolutely delightful in it's own right and you will want to read them all! I normally gravitate toward suspenseful mysteries and thrillers but Suzanne Woods Fisher has made me change my ways.:) The Stoney Ridge Seasons books have beautifully flawed characters that make you laugh, cry and think. Their strengths and weaknesses make them endearing and almost real. (I was tickled to read that Suzanne Woods Fisher describes herself as being a bit like M.K.!) Following the story of the Lapp family, you may even find yourself wishing you were Amish! The Lesson is the story of M.K. (Mary Kate Lapp) who longs for adventure and excitement. She may even be ready to leave the Amish community to travel the world- if only her passport would arrive! It includes a mystery or two, a surprising twist of fate, and suspenseful new characters that unwittingly bring an answer to buried secrets. Add to that wonderful sparkles of humor (Ms. Fisher truly knows how to make me laugh!), quiet wisdom, and a constant faith in God. I adored The Lesson but am so sad that the series has come to an end. Good thing, the next Adventures with Lily book is soon to be released!
Pictured above is the gorgeous x-stitching my dear friend, Lindsay, made me for Christmas. We both adore The Stoney Ridge series that tell the stories of Julia (The Keeper), Sadie (The Haven) and M.K. The Lesson. Can you tell?:)

Hi Sweet friend - hope this new year is treating you good. God bless. xoxoxo
Hi Lori! Wish you could have seen the smile on my face when I popped on your blog to read your review. LOVE THAT NEEDLEPOINT! I sent a pix of it to my editors and marketing team at Revell--they were so pleased. I haven't had a chance to post it on my blog yet (I had a manuscript due in last week just as "Lesson" was releasing...haven't had a chance to catch my breath!), but I will, soon! I want to share it with my readers. So very touching. Thank you for your lovely review, too. You're the best! Warmly, Suzanne
Hi Lori, I am so excited to be reading The Lesson. I know already that I will love it just as much as the other 2 books. Thank you for sending it to me :) It's wonderful to chat together about the characters we have grown to know and love.

Suzanne, thanks for writing this amazing series. I always feel I am right there at Windmill Farm when I read your books. They are such a delight. From the first few pages I am always intrigued and eager to read on. It was a pleasure to stitch the picture for Lori. Glad you liked it too ;) Could we persuade you to right another one? We want to know what happens to Julia and Sadie as they start their married lives and have families of their own. Regards. Lindsay
