They are forecasting 100% chance of snow tonight, but at our house there are signs of Spring popping up everywhere!:-) I made the basket with the chickies for my sweet friend, Roxanne. We went to lunch the other day and talked for almost 2 hours! It's so fun having "girl time" with friends. The other picture is of Katie, my little craft lover, and some cute little Spring signs that she made. The girls and I have also been planning our garden- morning glories, snapdragons, zucchini, and sugar snap peas are all favorites. The time will be here soon!
About Me
- mysteryhistorymom
- Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Lori at toosillysisters@cox.net

Spring is in the Air

Open Wide

I get to go to the dentist tomorrow. yippee. Katie, on the other hand, is thrilled to pieces! She is looking forward to getting a new toothbrush, having her picture taken for the "No Cavities"(my fingers are crossed) poster, and choosing a prize from the treasure chest. Why don't grown-ups get prizes, too? I'll let you ponder that thought for a moment. Don't you sit still while they pick into every sensitive nook and cranny? I even try and keep a friendly conversation going (you KNOW you want the hygienist to be your friend- you are at her mercy!) while inwardly wincing. Yes, please tell me more about your son's diaper rash problem, and NO, that didn't hurt. one. bit. We deserve much more than a dinky little ring from the treasure chest (that will turn your finger green in a matter of minutes) or perhaps some Silly Putty that will end up sticking to your rug, but just be glad you're not Dustin Hoffman in the movie "Marathon Man." "Is it Safe??" Shudder.
Happy Wednesday!
Don't you love it when you wake up in the morning to find that your cat has barfed all over your kids' favorite new board game? I thought I would spare you the pictures... Have a great day!

American Girl has a great promotion right now- Free Shipping! This is a rare offer for them. Plus, they have some fabulous items on sale. Just click on the Sale button at the top of the page. American Girl mystery party games for $8! You save $12! I think I may buy a few for my "Magic Closet." Do any of you have a Magic Closet? You know, when you see something for a great deal you buy some for future birthdays, holidays, etc. That way you have a gift on hand and you don't have to run out to the store at the last minute. I can't pass up a good deal, although I'm sure my husband wishes that I could. Love you, Honey.:-)
Gone, Baby, Gone
Jeff and I watched the movie "Gone, Baby, Gone" the other night. It was compelling, but I have to ask, does everyone have a trashy mouth in Boston?? Perhaps it was just the class (or lack of) of the characters that were involved. No sunshine and flowers here. If you haven't seen the movie, there are many twists and turns and the ending leaves you with a lot to think about. What would you have done?

Lapbooking
As a fun addition to our home schooling lessons, I try and sneak in lapbooking when I can. The girls seem to enjoy doing them and they are great for visual learners. I found a fun website with FREE lapbooking activities- www.LapbookLessons.com. Katie and I are currently doing their Little House in the Big Woods lapbook. The website even includes a video of this completed lapbook, which is helpful. Inthehandsofachild.com is another great resource, and they have a quarterly freebie. The current promotion is a Deer lapbook. Check it out!
