About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Chinese New Year

Happy New Year!  We have our house decorated with red and gold to celebrate the Year of the Rat.  Sounds lovely, don't you think?  But seriously, we all enjoyed learning about the Chinese New Year celebration and how it is the most important holiday in China.  The night before, the whole house is cleaned (to get rid of all the "bad things" form the previous year) and the next morning everyone bathes and puts on new clothes.  A fresh start!  The table is set in a very specific way (fish has a special spot, chicken, etc.) and all the elders are honored.

We attended a celebration at the library where the girls made chinese lanterns, dressed up like a dragon and we all were treated to yummy pot stickers- delicious!  We are having a special New Year's celebration with my friend, Roxanne, and her children next week and we can't wait!

I'm going to come to your house for our homeschool adventures! I just don't have that amount of energy to come up with all you do!
