About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Josh Groban, Amy Grant and George Bailey

This is what we have playing at home right now.  It's also playing on my blog.:)  We also like to listen to Burl Ives as it reminds me of all those fun Rudolph and Frosty "claymation" movies from my youth.  Remember when they were only on during Christmas?  Before videos and DVD's?
What are you listening to?

Ah, Jimmy Stewart.  I always think of him at this time of year.  "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of my all time favorite movies.  Can you believe it was a flop when it came out in the theaters so long ago??  It's hard to imagine.  Jeff watched it for the first time one Christmas when we were engaged.  I loved that I got to share it with him.  We will be watching it again this year during the holidays, you can be sure of it.:) Do you have any special movies that you enjoy during Christmas time?
Oh, and have you read "It's a Wonderful Life for Kids" by Jimmy Hawkins?  I bought it last year.  It's a story of George Bailey's son, written by the man that played Tommy Bailey in the movie.  If you have not read it, you truly must this year.  Any wonderful books that you would like to recommend?

I hope that the Christmas spirit is with all of you and that you are not feeling too rushed or overwhelmed.  I am trying to do something special each day with my girls to celebrate this wonderful time of year.  Katie and I made the Gumdrop Wreath this evening!  It's not as perfect as the picture I showed you, but we made it together and that's all that matters.:)

I love all three of those CD's/DVD's. I have the 2 CD's you listed and I also have George Bailey. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without George Bailey!! I have been playing Josh and Amy on my way to work lately!

Hi Lori,

I love those 3 also! Your post about the shots for Katie broke my heart. I used to hate that so much and I think the shots hurt me more that they did them. Now they are older and braver so it is a little easier. I always take them for a treat after...anything they want so that they can think of that during the shots.

We have a TON of Christmas movies we watch...some year round! I love Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Woods. We also have a tub of Christmas books by the tree and we try to read through them all by Christmas. Most were bought when the kids were younger so they bring back memories. Each year I check and see if there is a new book out that is 'worthy' of adding to our little tub... :-)

Hi Lori, Great music! I love Breath of Heaven! A friend of mine sings that song every Christmas at church. She has a beautiful, effortless soprano voice, and I do so look forward to her singing it. Your banner is just precious!!! :)

Oh, and Ashley has been practicing her Christmas songs on the piano, and it just bellows through the house, where it is located and the acoustics...I told Kevin I felt like George Bailey the other night! LOL! I know, that's bad! LOL! ~Rhonda :)

It's a Wonderful Life is John's favorite movie, too. Such a good message in that movie.
