About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! 60 years...

Awhile back you were all so sweet to help me think of ideas for my grandparent's 60th anniversary party.  I wanted to thank you so much for that.  Her are a few pictures of the big day that I wanted to share with you...
This is my beautiful grandmother, my Mona Mom, and my sweetie pie, Mandy...

My Dad and Jeff- you can tell they are into some kind of mischief...

My sister, Amy, and my little cutie, Katie...

Here I am with my grandparents!   Mona Mom looked so pretty that day and my grandfather was feeling well, so everyone had fun!

All of the girls had fun arranging the flowers- especially Mandy and Katie!  There were gorgeous white roses, hydrangea, lilies, and Bells of Ireland...  We also used clear "gemstones" and sparkly white candles on the tables to highlight the "Diamond Anniversary" celebration.

Here are the cakes- one was carrot cake with coconut frosting, one was white with strawberry filling and one was chocolate...

The cascading fruit display (the lower cantaloupe half was later filled with a fruit dip...

The centerpiece had faux diamonds in the center of the roses for "Diamond Anniversary".

It was such a lovely afternoon...

What a wonderful celebration! Were the "diamonds" glass or acrylic? Nice touch!

I just heard something on the radio the other day about how it is becoming so rare for people to reach the 50th wedding anniversary anymore. My own grandmother was very pleased at having been married 63 years even though my grandfather's last years were very hard for her due to his dementia.

I am glad your family was able to celebrate your grandparents with a party, and that your grandfather felt well enough to enjoy the celebration. :)
