About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Heart Shaped Crayons

A few of you have asked about making heart shaped crayons.  These are some that we made last year and they are really, really fun!  Here is what you do:

Heat oven to 250 degrees.  Fill each silicone mold (we got ours at Target) with assorted colors of crayon pieces (paper removed) and bake until the crayons melt- about 10-15 minutes.  You might like to place a sheet pan under the crayons to catch any drips.  Once they are cool, remove the hearts from the mold and smooth any rough edges by rubbing them on a piece of scrap paper.  We attached ours with small pieces of foam tape to valentines.  This is such a great way to recycle bit and pieces of crayon that would otherwise end up in the trash.

I need to have more patience when I am going through the kiddos crayon box...when I see a broken crayon, I toss it.
HORRIBLE, I know!
You've inspired me, dear friend (as usual!)....no more throwing out crayons. Heart shaped crayons it is!!!
Hope you're having a wonderful and relaxing Sunday! :)

Cute!! Watery is the name of the color of the half bath. Its by Benjamin Moore. It is coming out brighter in the half bath than my mom's extra bath. It was left over from her house. Yay for free paint!!

CG is home sick today and this would have been a GREAT project but, alas, one car is still in the shop so we are homebound.....:-(
But.....maybe later this week :-)
