About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! They are not Truly Ours

Oh, how I love, adore, treasure and worry about my girls.
But they are not truly mine.
They are the Lord's.

A wise friend told me something that I just had to share with you.
God has a plan for all of us- and that includes our children.
We can pray and guide them the best that we can, but ultimately they are His.
At first this sounds a bit scary but it is truly freeing.
My hopes and dreams will always be present, but I have to trust and know that God is in control.
What a load off my shoulders! I am just a helper. A Mother.

God is the conductor and we are all lovely instruments in his symphony called life. :)

How true that is, Lori! We just have to pray for our kids...all the while trusting and knowing that God is in full control of their future.

One of the great things about the Lord is he knows our hearts. He knows we want the best for our children and he does too. Our children's free will "may" get in the way at times but God never leaves them! We can't be with them 100% of the time BUT he is! I love that he gives us all the gift of prayer, such a powerful, powerful gift!
Love you!

Hi Lori
This is such a beautiful and very true post. We just have to trust and it's not always that easy. I don't worry as much as I used to do but I still worry as you know :) I am so grateful to have you in my life to remind me of this sometimes.

Amen! I remind myself that God won't forget the plans He's made for them....no matter how much they try to get away! :)

I believe in the pre-existence and I truly believe that before we are born that we lived in Heaven. With that in mind, I believe Heavenly Father probably had a very hard time saying good bye to your girls. He loves them beyond words and only wants the best for them. How blessed/lucky you are that he entrusted them to you and how blessed/lucky they are to have you as their mother.

Beautiful post!
Beautiful reminder that we are just stewards here of all the many Blessings God bestows on us, most priceless of all our children. It's a wonderful feeling to know He Is in control.
God Bless you and your beautiful family!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
