About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! The 5 Love Languages for Children book review and giveaway!

The winner is #11 Alicia!  Congratulations Alicia!  Please send me your information so I can get it mailed to you.:)

What does it take for you to feel really loved?  Is it coffee at Starbucks with a friend, a back rub from your husband, or perhaps a neighbor that drops by with freshly home baked cookies?  These are all wonderful and appreciated but what really fills your love tank and makes you feel appreciated?  Now think about your children.  Are you speaking their Love Language?  I discovered I was way off the mark with my sweeties, sad to say, and I want to make them feel loved in a way they understand.  I studied (devoured!) The 5 Love Languages for Children like I was preparing for a very, very important final exam.  Your child's emotional development, their behavior, their security, their feelings of love (or lack of) is of the utmost importance and you, as their parent, play a very important role in that.

Dr. Gary Chapman and Dr. Ross Campbell help you:

-Discover your child's love language
-Understand the link between successful learning and the love languages
-See how the love languages can help you discipline more effectively
-Build a foundation of unconditional love for your child

I love gifts but, you know what, they are easy and don't require a lot of time.  I'm not knocking a lovely wrapped package, but after reading The 5 Love Languages of Children I have discovered that Quality Time is truly my Love Language.  I was looking for the easy way out (although many people's love language is Gifts) with my girls by giving gifts.  I love shopping and my girls do enjoy gifts, as we all do, but what they really want is more of me.  I am now working on providing Words of Affirmation (praise and encouragement) and Quality Time to my two most precious gifts- my girls.:)  I am beyond happy to say that we are all less stressed, less crabby, and feeling way more loved.  It's only been 2 days!  The 5 Love Languages of Children has blessed my whole family and I highly encourage you to read it.  Every newborn should come with a copy to take home from the hospital.:)

To be their best, children need to feel loved. But if you and your child speak different love languages, your affection might get lost in translation, affecting the child’s attitude, behavior, and development. Dr. Gary Chapman’s groundbreaking Five Love Languages series has helped millions of couples communicate love more clearly, and Dr. Ross Campbell M.D. has applied the innovative system to children as well. The 5 Love Languages of Children gives practical suggestions for learning how your children interpret love and creating a sense of security in which they can thrive.

Oh! I am glad they made one for kids. I read the first one but I couldn't figure out what love language my kiddos were. I hope this will make it clearer. Great giveaway.
