About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Keeper of the Stars by Robin Lee Hatcher

My Thoughts:

Keeper of the Stars, by Robin Lee Hatcher, is a heartfelt love story with a focus on the harsh realities of grief and forgiveness. Penny Cartwright lost her mother at a young age and now, at the beginning of the book, she's struggling with the tragedy that took the life of her younger brother, Brad. Trevor Cartwright survives the car accident but blames himself for that night. The beauty of this book are the flashbacks on Brad Cartwright's life. I loved reading about his tremendous faith in God and how just by living for the Lord he was able to lead Trevor to Kings Meadow. I believe that's how God works in this life- every person fits together like pieces of a puzzle. It's not always easy to see the big picture but Robin Lee Hatcher delights and comforts us with this wonderful story of God working through tragedy and joy.

About the book:

Keeper of the Stars (Thomas Nelson, January 2016)

Because it's not always love at first sight!

When her mother died from pneumonia, Penny Cartwright was heartbroken. But now, after burying her younger brother just 12 years later, she is devastated. Anger, guilt, and sorrow cloud Penny's mind, and the last thing she wants is to be reminded of her pain---but that's exactly what happens when a stranger comes to town.

Trevor Reynolds has been chasing fame for more than a dozen years, but his musical career can't get off the ground. While on the road, an accident kills his young drummer, Brad Cartwright. Trevor wasn't behind the wheel, but he still blames himself . . . and so does Brad's sister, Penny. Now Trevor finds himself in Kings Meadow, determined to follow through on his final promise to his friend.

Still feeling the pain of Brad's death, Penny and Trevor must learn that forgiveness is the only thing that can heal their hearts. And if they do forgive, something beautiful may rise from the ashes of heartbreak.
