About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! good times

The best Christmas gifts this year didn't come in a package.
They traveled by plane.

My sister and parents came just to see us.:)

Of course there was sushi eating...

Lots of wrapping...

Picture taking...

and gift exchanging.

Gourmet breakfasts (and lunch and dinner) were shared.
Tiny pancakes were made for Ruby...

and she promptly headed for a nap afterward.
If napping were a sport she'd win a gold medal. (smile)

Such a treasure from my little Katie!  Created in art class and kept a secret for months.
So precious.

Santa brought a keyboard for the girls.
Must get them started on lessons soon.

Candyland was played with real candy.
Special rules for when Grandma and Ba are here.
Love this tradition they started when the girls were little.

Grandma Patty sent petit fours from Neiman Marcus.
Red for almond and green for mint.
Delightful.

My Mom carried a gingerbread house kit on the plane!
The delivery was a gift in itself.

Searching for snacks. A good sign.  After our scare earlier that month we weren't sure if she'd still be here with us.  Happy to say she is doing well today.  (Hope I look this good when I'm almost 100.)

10 Days in the USA.  Fun game, but not easy!  You really have to think.  Good thing my sister bought Moose Munch to keep us focused.

Napping by the fire is what winter is all about.  So blessed to have a husband willing to keep us cozy every night.
Thanks, sweetie.

We enjoyed a few meals at our favorite restaurants.
For you Duggar fans, that's Josh and Anna Duggar on the left at the next table.

Katie and her bestie.

Picture before going in to see the Hobbit.
Those spiders were ca-Razy!
And Smaug.  How do they make him looks so real??

New Year's Eve

These photo props are priceless!

Even my parents got in on the fun.

My sweetie and I did, too.
I look a bit loony/drunk/crazed but my husband's dimples are fabulous.
He's one handsome guy.

And he's all mine.:)

Hey Lori!

You guys went to go see The Hobbit! I know, the spiders looked super duper crazy but the movie was still great. Smaug is I believe one of the best characters in the movie/book. Speaking of the book, I need to read it again! I love the picture of the artwork Katie did. The sushi you guys ate looked super duper good! I heard piano lessons were major expensive so maybe if someone in your family already knows how to play the piano, you might be able to have both of them learn for free. I haven't played Candyland in forever! As always, keep up the pictures of your adventures because I'd totally love to see more.

Rhoda- Mandy would've loved to have seen The Hobbit with you! She went with us and then with a friend the next week. Peter Jackson certainly knows how to make great movies and, of course, Tolkein was a masterful storyteller! The Hobbit was an exciting read! Thanks for your sweet comments- you always make me smile!:) Lori

Hey Lori!

I can't believe she wants to see it with me! I'd be more than happy to have gone with her except that we live in different states. Ha ha ha! Keep posting wonderful pictures of your different adventures! I'd love to see.

Your puppy is so cute. It's hard having an older doggie. Looks like the holidays were a great time for your family!
