About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! My First Blog Contest!

We are discussing where to go on vacation this year.  We absolutely love Fort Morgan, Alabama and this is where we have gone for many years.  Beautiful beach, gorgeous vacation homes, Lulu's restaurant, great outlets, etc.  I could go on and on.  BUT, this may be the year for THE CHANGE.  We are looking at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas and even the Tyler Resort in Vermont!  I would love to hear of places you have gone and loved.  Or maybe a place that you have dreamed of going....  We think a cruise would be fun, too, as we have never gone on one.  Please take a minute and share.  ***Here is the fun part!  On Saturday, February 23rd I will pick a random name from your vacation comments and they will win a prize!*** It will be my first Blog Contest!  Just leave a comment to this blog entry and you will be part of the fun!

Hey Lori!

We had some friends return from Atlantis just a few weeks ago and they raved about it! It sounded fabulous. Just wanted to pass that along. Oh the choices you have, there are so many places to travel. But I definatley think you should let Spence and I tag along! Haha :)

Wherever you are in that picture on top of your blog looks like paradise to me. We don't do much vacationing other than day trips or to visit relatives, so it's hard to recommend a place. But I have heard really wonderful things about the Disney cruises. And, depending on the time of year, Macinac Island is supposed to be incredibly beautiful and charming. http://www.mackinac.com/
Does that count for the drawing??

Absolutely! Macinac Island is supposed to be fabulous and I had not thought of it! Lori

Mystery Mom looking for history.
Fort Morgan Alabama mystery, requires more than a few visits...you left your
foot prints here...and are remembered, as you remember.

She will always draw you back to
Healing serenity,
found in the history of being in
Fort Morgan.

Many shores give beauty beyond,
Destin with diamond sparked sand
Is the Heart of the Gulf of Mexico.
Fishing options best on the coast.

Emerald green clear waters
Gulf and Bay
Give swimming and playing options
to everyone.

Fort Conde', Fort Gaines, Fort Morgan, Fort Pickens...different places but circled in history.
Close to each, strategic indeed.

Saint Augustine traveling toward
the Atlantic Ocean;
Filled with historical Fort History
With other interests.
Fort was made of the shells washed
ashore...found it of interest the manner they performed. Shock absorbers for the cannons...and more.

Fort Morgan Alabama twenty two
mile dead end. Ferry to travel across the mouth of the Mobile Bay to Fort Gaines, Mobile County on Dauphin Island. Fort Gaines has history, Ferry ride is delightful on a good day, by foot or vehicle...choose your way.

Fishing spots hot in Fort Morgan from shore to sea...
If of interest, can be found.
Strolling along miles of an endless shore ...
there is healing in Fort Morgan.

Delighted you found such enjoyment returning is the easy part...
the sand is between your toes,

I have always wanted to take the Alaskan Cruise. I have heard great things about it and it looks so beautiful!

Growing up in Michigan I have been several times to Mackinaw Island. It is a great place to go and has lots of history. Christopher Reed filmed a movie there!

Disney cruises are also top of the line. The Bahamas are not that great. Take a cruise that stops there but don't stay there :o( The private islands are the best.

Now Aruba is worth visiting but very pricey :o)

Thanks for the input Roxanne! You always have great ideas! My Mom said the same thing about the Bahamas... Now you are in my contest! Oh, and I love the movie "Somewhere in Time." Jeff's cousin had his wedding at the Grand Hotel (where the movie was filmed) - so dreamy.... Lori

We are going through the same decisions at this moment in time. We are narrowing it down to a Windjammer cruise off the coast of Maine. Not extravagant but sounds like fun...I wouldn't expect to get pampered though.

If we get enough people we could charter the boat privately! Check it out.

Wouldn't it be fun to take a cruise together?? The girls would have such a fun time with all the activities (and each other!) and you and I could run off to the movies again- or maybe enjoy a Pina Colada by the pool!! I'll check into the Windjammer cruises..... Lori
