About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! What do you have on your kindle?

I love books.
My kindle lets me travel with a portion of my library.
It enables me.
(No more books at my feet as we all pile into the van.)

This is what I have on my kindle right now.
Matched.  In the future your perfect mate is
                     chosen for you.
What if it's the wrong person?
They are making this into a movie.

House Rules.  I am going to read this with my
                 bloggy sister, Heather.
I believe it is about an autistic young man who is
                 accused of a crime.

Sarah's Key.  A mystery going back to the Nazi
invasion.  Highly recommended and also being made
             into a movie.

Darkness, My Old Friend.  I saw this on a
book list in a magazine and the first chapter hooked me!
Not sure what is going on yet, but lots of interesting
characters should make for  a satisfying read.

I would love to know what you have on your kindle,
iphone, in a stack by your bed...

you need to put a "nose deep in.." on your side bar so we can all see what you are reading!

and now..you just made me add 3 more books to my list :)

I've been wanting to read "Matched" since there's been so much buzz about it.
I'm currently reading "Wildefire" and it's pretty good (but can I just say? OBVIOUSLY written by a man!).

I'm so torn about the Kindle. On the one hand I would LOVE not having the clutter. On the other hand...the clutter is so homey and makes me feel brainy. I just don't know... Maybe by Christmas?

As far as what I'm reading...

I've added all the ones you just suggested to my library list.

And I just recently finished:

The Help (great book...but I'll admit all I knew of it was the commercials for the movie and somehow got the impression it was a comedy! Um. Yeah. Not so much, really! :)

Handle with Care (Jodi P is such a heart wrenching read!)

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (really really good book!)

And I'm reading aloud to the kiddos Around the World in 80 days.

Oh...and I agree with Tristan. Keep a list somewhere for us! I have a Curl Up With board on my Pinterest page. I'm posting the books I've read there. I need to post the ones I want to read too though!

I'm reading "Fresh-Brewed Life" by Nicole Johnson and "Oak Leaves" by Maureen Lang (I love her! and it's free in September on Amazon!). I'm also reading "The Hour that Matters Most" by the Parrotts in paperback. The Kindle won me over once I realized how many free books are available!

Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. Just a grab off the shelf cause the kids were ready to leave the library. Best shelf grab I could have made :) gorgeous book.

I think the Kindle is an amazing item, but there is something about holding a real book, turning real pages and using my imagination while I'm reading. I hope to keep books on my bedside table for a very long time. Thanks for your book selections - they are great!

I have the same Jodi book on my Nook, but I find I am not liking the Nook as much as I like 'real' books--I can't pass by a good book!!! So I 'Nook' it, but I think I prefer a real book...I may be crazy.
And thanks for the book suggestion on FB-I need to get it ASAP!
