About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! cabin fever

The snow I've been anxiously awaiting has arrived and... now I want it to leave.

Our wood pile is almost depleted.
  I miss Starbucks.  I miss Panera's chicken soup.  I miss co-op classes.
I miss "me" time.

It's not all bad news, though.  My girls have started taking keyboard lessons.  For free!  The first 2 lessons have been delightful.  Smiles all around.

We've been playing Professor Noggin's card game the past 3 nights.  I want all of them!  Easy and hard questions so the kids can play against the adults.  A small box with 1 die so you can take it anywhere.  (Great for a bit of geography while lunching at Panera.)

I made Baked Blueberry Coconut Oatmeal last night for dinner.  My first adventure with coconut oil and it was divine.  Healthy comfort food! The best of both worlds.

Off to see if I can make an escape today.  Down to 2 rolls of toilet paper and, in my book, that's a state of emergency.

No snow here......ever really, but at present we are in the midst of summer heat, I'll bottle some and send it over for you.
Take care,

Hey Lori!

I would definitely cry if my family was down to two rolls of toilet paper, worst off, none at all. It's been raining and really foggy these past couple of days which I despised because rain just makes my day really sad or gloomy. There were occasionally a couple of days where it was really sunny and warm though! Sometimes it gets chilly on sunny days that we had here in California which is making it colder than usual so it's sometimes near mid 50 or 60 degree weather. I've never heard of Professor Noggin's card game before, how do you play it? It looks really hard and confusing to play without knowing the rules! Maybe you can post a video of how to play it one of these days?

I am glad to hear that both Katie and Mandy are enjoying there free piano lessons. I wish I could play a musical instrument but I think I'd be too busy for learning because I'm preparing for college and I am hoping to get a job before then in order to pay for tuition (and materials). Please post a couple video's of both Mandy and Katie doing their lessons sometime! I'd really enjoy it. Anyway, talk to you soon!

I'm not a camping girl either. I like the comforts of home too much to rough it out voluntarily. We got snow here too. 5 inches yesterday and snow again today. I've had enough of the cold. I'm longing for the warm days of Spring. Hang in there!

Sharmayne- Thank you so much for the sunshine! We happily made it out into the world today and I believe it was you (and God!) who made it happen.:) Lori

Rhoda- The game is really simple. You roll the dice and the number rolled is the # of the question you ask the roller. Easy questions are for little ones and the harder questions are for teens and adults. If you get the answer correct you keep the card. The person with the most cards at the end wins.:) Lori

Hey Lori!

Oh, okay, I kind of get the concept of playing the game and it sounds so much fun. I wish I could be there with you guys to play! As for coconut oil, it is super duper good for your skin and really fascinating to use for food too. You can also use it in your hair My family uses it for everything, including rashes or slight injuries (bruises or scratches) we have.

Baked oatmeal is such a wonderful treat! I like to make it with condensed milk and strawberries! By the way, coconut oil is really good for removing mascara --- very gentle!

Oh my! Two rolls of TP is a CRISIS!! Eek! Time to get out and shop :) Coconut oil is so very good for you, and an excellent addition to your diet. I never seem to tire of being cooped up inside, severe introvert as I am. We may have more snow this week perhaps!!
