About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! American Girl Class

My precious American Girls.

We studied Felicity this month so, of course, we enjoyed a
tea party!

Each girl was assigned a task- offering tea, a cookie,
sugar, etc.

Then, we played old fashioned games such as Hide the
Ring and Ring Around the Rosie!

The girls did an amazing job creating their fashionable hats.
Ladies in the colonies did not tan. Tan skin meant that you had
worked in the fields.

American Girls and an American Pug!

The girls were so well behaved and a true pleasure to teach.

Plus, they were happy to model for me. A bonus!

Sophia was born in Africa so she is a "newer" American Girl.:)

Katie and Sara became fast friends. They were born one day
apart!

Look at Emma's sweet smile!

Frosting cookies for our tea party.

We are going to share many adventures together. Love these
girls already.

What a blessing we will be to each other...

Next month: Molly!

"Teeth"

My grandfather calls her "Teeth". We call her "Boob Girl".
A friend of mine calls her show "Food Porn". I did not want to
like her. Ina is my girl. But, today during Mandy's orthodontist appointment I found myself wanting to be one of Giada's (HOW
do you say her name?) BFF's. Her show was on the big screen TV
at the office and she was helping some firemen prepare for their
annual fundraising breakfast. She has a kind heart! She liked
Smokey, the firehouse dog! She makes amazing pancakes with
almond paste and mascarpone cheese! She genuinely likes
food but somehow does not gain weight? sigh.... I am now a
fan. Maybe she wears turtlenecks in the Fall? Doubt it.

We're not in Kansas Anymore

Hope your day is quite lazy...

and utterly wonderful!

I am in my jammies.:) And it's noon! Yippee!

Our weekend was made up of friends, family, American Girl,
and The Cheesecake Factory. Perfection.

Mandy enjoyed some time in a massage chair while Katie,
Grandma Patty and I went to the new American Girl store in
Kansas City!

The wait was long as they put us in groups by way of
tickets. A nice lady gave us her tickets which saved us about
3 hours of waiting. Random acts of kindness ROCK!

People had camped over night in order to get a goody
bag. They were given to the first 100 people. People started
waiting at 3 PM the night before. Hope it was worth it!

I had never seen so many dolls! The girls were thrilled to
be able to be there with their friends.:)

No, we DID NOT ask the clown to be in the picture.
Remember what I said about clowns?

Felicity and Elizabeth are being retired this year.:(

The store was such a delight!

Katie and I are reading the Molly series right now. We are
learning so much about World War II. Fascinating.

Josefina (pronounced Ho-sah-fee-na)

Katie had Elizabeth's hair styled. SO fun!

The Lanie camper is on everyone's wish list. $295 and
back ordered until mid October!

Katie saved her money forever to get Lanie! $95! And today
was the day!Lanie is the doll of the year and will be gone in January.
Katie was so happy to bring her home.

Waiting in line for hair styling... See the chart with all the
choices?

Lanie!

The doll behind Katie is Molly. I am going to have the girls in
our American Girl class dress up in costume for our meeting in
October. Molly and her friends dress up for Halloween in the first
book and next month we are studying Molly and World War II.

After all the excitement (and lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!)
we went back to Grandpa John and Grandma Patty's house. We
needed some quiet and rest after all the craziness.

Ruby RAN all weekend. I have never seen her so happy and
awake! She loved every minute. Well, we all did!

The girls rode the paddle boat, went fishing, played with a
remote control boat and even rode in a wheelbarrow!

The weather was perfect. It was sunny and gorgeous with a lovely breeze.

Hope your weekend was divine!

Getting to Know Me.. better

We've been friends for awhile, haven't we?

Let's see if I can surprise you.:)

-I drink my milk with ice cubes. Ice cold!
-I will not buy or give a book that has been opened.
To me, it is no longer new.
-I love reality TV. Survivor and Amazing Race rock!

dive was in a quarry and I had to swim through
an old sunken bus.
-I hate roller coasters.
-Clowns are freaky. Shudder.
-I do my own manicures. The last "professional"
one that I had was the night before my wedding.
I ended up passing out.
-I pushed a dandelion up my nose when I was little.
Guess it smelled good.:)
-I have arachnophobia.
-Quite a few times I have been mistaken for Amy Grant.
-I take words and say them backwards in my head.
llA eht emit.
-I don't like coffee at. all. But I am a huge fan of Starbucks.
-Black licorice smells and tastes horrid.

Tell me something I don't know about you!
