Homemade Chicken Soup on the stove.
Sweet rain in our forecast.
Sleepover whispers and a softly snoring pug are music to my ears.
Time to start planning for the weekend.
My daughter and I are now gluten/casein free.
No more ice cream...
until I discovered the decadent delight above. It is crazy delicious!
Breakfast tomorrow will most likely be:
4 TB Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter + 1 frozen banana + 2/3 cup almond milk + 1/4 cup coconut milk + ice cubes in the blender = the most awesome Peanut Butter Banana Shake!
Planning on reading this. Suzanne Woods Fisher is one of my absolute favorites.
Experimenting with these. Panaway + Thieves is helping my husband's back pain and Peace and Calming lull my daughters to sleep. They smell ah-mazing. Not selling, just my personal opinion.
I'll also be making homemade Glass Cleaner! Yes,I do get excited about things like that! I'm 44, after all.;)
Want to make some, too?
Homemade Glass Cleaner:
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 TB cornstarch
2 cups warm water
Combine and shake well.
I read Joni Earekson's story when I was a teenager. She's such an inspiring Christian lady. Her newest book, A Place of Healing is FREE for your kindle today. Just downloaded it and thought you might enjoy it, too.
What are your big plans this weekend?

Hi Lori, mmmmm I LOVE chicken soup. Hope you get your rain and that it cools things down for you over there. You are doing so well with being gluten/casein free, hope it continues to go well :) So exited about Suzanne Woods Fisher's new book, you know how much I love her books too. I started reading the next Misty Harbor book last night, I feel like I am back amongst friends. This weekend for us marks the start of an adventure, wish you were coming too. Lindsay x
Wow look at you two all gluten/casein free! Good for you! You know I've been gluten free for 5 years.... But what you didn't know is that I had to give up refined sugars, fake sugars and ANYTHING with corn in it. I did this 5 months ago and have never felt better (lost 5 pounds in the process too) - Got a bunch of blood work done and it came out remarkable! I hope you two feel great after taking things out of your diet-I truly believe that foods can affect us in crazy ways! Took me years to figure out what food was making me sick!
Lindsay- I love homemade chicken soup, too, but was always afraid to make it myself. It's SO easy and yummy! You know I'll be sending the book to you next , dear sister!:) So wonderful that we can enjoy Suzanne Woods Fisher together. I SO wish I was going on your holiday with you! Have the best time and enjoy going back to Misty Harbor. Love you! Lori
Robin- We've also stopped eating artificial colors & flavors, VERY limited soda (only all natural) as well as al the organic fruits and veggies we can eat!:) I can't tell you how much I love eating organic veggies from our garden.:) You are so right- food can make you sick. My Nana is turning 100 next year and always ate this way. Tells you something right there.;) Thanks so much for helping me on this journey- as well as so many others, Sis. Love you tons and tons! Lori
i had a yard sale all weekend..ha..i am wore out! i made $85 today..and stopped on the way home to pick up T-A's meds, and it was $84.42 :(...irony!
your weekend sounded amazing, that ice cream looks amazing..and it wouldn't make me sick! Those books look good! And, I bet the glass cleaner will clean even better with newspaper instead of paper towel! I would have never even thought you were 44..no way! I want to be just like you when I'm 44 :)
Sounds like you had a perfect weekend planned. The shake sounds delicious. I grew up making our own glass cleaner. I love it and doesn't have that weird smell. For years we put a drop of lavender essential oil on David's pillow to help him sleep. Called it "sweet dreams". He loved it.
