About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Have you ever been invisible?

 I was invisible today.
At least it felt like it.

It was not a nice feeling.
Lets you know what some people think of you, though.

Sometimes I wish I could just speak my mind, like I do
           on my blog.
        Forget being polite.
I want to be more like Skeeter.

Days like this really make me appreciate my home.  My nest.
                              Such heaven awaits me there.:)

                                I am so very blessed.
At home, I'm never invisible- even if I wanted to be.:)

Ina, Walgreens and Coupon Queens

I spent the day with Ina and my sewing machine.
She cooked and I sewed and all was well in the world.

My little cutie pie helped me find fabric odds and ends and we
happily created little place mats that made us smile.

My sewing skills are very basic but I can now thread my
sewing machine and I feel like a genius!
Girl Scouts had me scarred for life, or so I thought.  That
puppet making fiasco held me in fear for
about 30 years!  (See the birdie fabric, Fran!  Thank you so much!)

I hope to make the yellow place mat tomorrow.  The fabrics
       are luscious!

I also made my hit on Walgreens. Anyone else a coupon queen?  I got these for free...

And this (scented nail polish!  Super fun!) for free...

And almost got this for free, but the crazy coupon queens got there before me.  I don't quite fall into the crazy category.  At least not yet.

The weather felt almost like Fall today.  It was de-vine!

Ina got me thinking about this....

Butternut Squash Soup.  Oh my goodness....

Library Ladies

Still tying up some loose ends, but have decided to go with A World of Adventure as our primary curriculum this year.  It's a wonderful unit study of the ancient world including Egypt, Greece and Roman. All subjects are covered, except Math.  I had heard good things about this curriculum but what closed the deal for me is that the curriculum includes a game!  As you progress, you play the board game to reinforce all that you have learned.  Love it!

We will also be supplementing with Deeper Roots: Discovering Our Amazing God (which I will be reviewing in September), Abeka for American History, Apologia Science  (still finishing from last year), ACE workbooks as well as IXL Math.

Can you tell I am a bit of a curriculum junkie?
It's an illness that I can't seem to shake.
Must. try. everything. once.

It's the same with books.
The library ladies put a limit on books you could check out.
Because of me.

I'm going to go read now.
Toodles.

A lot to Learn...

When we first decided to home school our daughters it had nothing to do with religion.
I thought we would sneak a bit in here and there, but it was definitely not a priority.
I was so wrong.

I felt that as a child I had learned all I needed to know
about the Bible.  I learned what happened to Jonah and
the whale, how Moses freed the Jews and why Noah
       built the ark.
Go ahead and giggle. I am sure that the Lord was amused.
       Or maybe not.

In the past week, I have spent a lot of time playing
catch up.  Boy, do I have a lot to learn.
I was embarrassed to tell my girls that I did NOT
know the names of Jesus' disciples.  Sad.
But it's not too late. (big smile)

This book has been a wonderful fresh start for my family.
I bought it at a friend's resale shop awhile back.
I intended to sell it, but God had other plans.
         He is awesome.

Just because you are a grown-up, please don't be fooled
like I was.  Take time to learn more about the Bible
and share it with your children.  You don't have to be a
            home schooler.
God wants all of us to learn more about Him. To develop a relationship with Him.   He's available all day, every day.
Awesome, I tell you.

Love to you all.
Even if we don't meet here on this earth, we will spend eternity together someday!

I am bursting to share!

Lalaloopsies Gone Wild!

Hello, my name is Berry!
Welcome to my home...

Buttons and ribbon make me smile.:)

This is my roommate, Spot Splatter Splash.
                                      She is quite the artist!

We share a bunk bed and love to read bedtime stories.

The fuzzy, orange ladder tickles us and makes us giggle!

It's time for breakfast and our friend, Peanut Big Top,
            has come for a visit.
(Pssst! Berry, it's not good manners to put your feet on the table!)

After breakfast we go for a drive in Peanut's Button Buggy.
She always takes us on the best adventures!

Oops!  Looks like it has been a wild ride!
(Good thing everyone was wearing a seat belt!)

Please stop by for a visit again soon!

*My little ballerina got busy in her room this weekend and came out with these darling creations:)*
