When we first decided to home school our daughters it had nothing to do with religion.
I thought we would sneak a bit in here and there, but it was definitely not a priority.
I was so wrong.
I felt that as a child I had learned all I needed to know
about the Bible. I learned what happened to Jonah and
the whale, how Moses freed the Jews and why Noah
built the ark.
Go ahead and giggle. I am sure that the Lord was amused.
Or maybe not.
In the past week, I have spent a lot of time playing
catch up. Boy, do I have a lot to learn.
I was embarrassed to tell my girls that I did NOT
know the names of Jesus' disciples. Sad.
But it's not too late. (big smile)
This book has been a wonderful fresh start for my family.
I bought it at a friend's resale shop awhile back.
I intended to sell it, but God had other plans.
He is awesome.
Just because you are a grown-up, please don't be fooled
like I was. Take time to learn more about the Bible
and share it with your children. You don't have to be a
home schooler.
God wants all of us to learn more about Him. To develop a relationship with Him. He's available all day, every day.
Awesome, I tell you.
Love to you all.
Even if we don't meet here on this earth, we will spend eternity together someday!

For awhile last year we were reading the bible and then doing activities based on the story. We had so much fun acting out bits of Genesis. We may need to do that again this year :-)
