About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Bits and Pieces

Mandy and I are reading this.  S.P.O.O.K.Y.  Victorian ghost story geared towards 9-12 year olds.  A young orphan is taken in by her uncle but the one stipulation is that she bring nothing green with her.  Hmmm....

ON A GROWN-UP NOTE...

I fought it.  Blogging is where I spend my on-line time.  Friends insisted I was blowing them off.  My sister was ticked.  Facebook needed me!!  Anyway, I have spent the last few days learning the ins and outs of this new adventure.  I am hooked!  On a sad note, it made me take a walk down Memory Lane.  Bittersweet, my friends.  I am thrilled, THRILLED to be reconnecting with my old friends, but where has the time gone???  In my mind, we are all still 17.  I actually broke down and cried yesterday because of this.  Why???  I love my life.  I love my family.  I love what I do. Yet I feel like I have been cheated in some way.  I went on with my life after high school, why do I not feel that my friends should do the same?  I wished and prayed that they would all have the most wonderful lives and that all their dreams would come true.  And I AM happy for them!  Perhaps I am melancholy because I was not there to be a part of their lives?   Is this a mid-life crisis??  What is the deal??
Enough of that.  OK, Survivor fans- Someone else needs to be the Dragon Slayer and slay the true dragon- Coach.  Jeff and I nearly wet our pants listening to his Amazon adventure story.  Is this guy for REAL?  "BE THE WIZARD."  Wha????  Tyson is funny, but evil.  Who do you want to win?  I like J.T., too, Robin, and Sierra, although she is going down...

I'm on FB and I'm totally addicted as well. I spend way more time there than on my blog these days. But, yes, reconnecting with the past is so much fun!

and - no green? Hmmm - must find that book.

I have found some very dear high school friends on Facebook. It's so much fun to see their families and to see what they look like now! :0)

I had some of the best high school years ever - But I don't want to go back and "re-live" them. I don't want old boyfriends getting ahold of me etc. etc. so this is why I haven't joined Facebook. So you being my "sister" you can let me know what you think of it once you are on it for awhile. I'm just really content in my world and where I am now/That, and the fact that I am just not the person I was in highschool, not even a little bit (knowing that do you think facebook is for me?)
Okay about Survivor: Coach needs to go... AND Sierra is SO not going down!!!!!! :)
Tyson is a hoot and makes the game interesting but I have a feeling he won't make it to the end???? AND TJ is one of my favorites (as you know) I do hope he makes it to the end. But if you have noticed there are a few that are hiding under the radar that should NOT make it to the end because they really haven't done anything but keep their mouths shut.
We will see!

Facebook is such a weird thing!! It's as if no time as passed since high school, and yet at the same time, I can hardly remember things.

I am going to find that book; looks awesome!

And I can't even BELIEVE they didn't vote out Coach. So dumb.

Oh that darn Facebook........... I just don't want to go there. All my friends are there. They bug me and ask why haven't I joined. I have a blog, you can find me there I say.

I can't spend any more time on this darn computer ;) we'll see how long I can resist!

I've had several people asking me to join Facebook, but I don't know if I'd have the time to devote to it. You know how blogging takes up a good part of your time, as it is! I would like to reconnect with friends of mine from high school, so maybe I'll reconsider.

I used to be a big fan of "Survivor", but I haven't watched it for the last couple of seasons. I'm more an "American Idol" fan. Enjoy your Monday!

I have not joined Facebook cause I feel I spend quite enough time at blogging. I just don't need something else I feel addicted to.

The book, Jade Green, sounds like something Lexi would LOVE. She is reading the Allie Finkle series right now and LOVES them. I read through part of the first book and it is really good!

I know what you mean and you've got 10 years on me!! Sorry, but true. ;) You know you don't look like it, though!! Being that my husband thought you were my age!! But still, I think that way, especially when I think of my one year of college.

Ah, yes Facebook...it has been taking up alot of my time too. It has been fun to reconnect with old friends, see where they are in their life, etc. But, with some of them, I realize the reason why we didn't keep in touch. I'm not the same person & they seem to be. Know what I mean?

We need to set up a time when we can talk...this weekend I wanted to call, but too much was going on to get longer than 5 minutes on the phone & as Lindsey told the world....I love the phone!

I want to read that book...sounds fun.

BTW: I had a mid life crisis at age 30 (thank God I got that out of the way)
That year I parachuted out of a airplane at 10,000 feet, ran my first triathlon and ran my first marathon (26.2 mile run) ~ Among other things... I have no idea what I was trying to prove but it sure makes for a good story though I must say Coach seems to have much better "stories" then I do! (P.S. I can vouch for mine, I bet he doesn't have a photo to prove any of his-interesting huh?)
Robin~♥
P.S. I hope we don't lose you to Facebook, I adore you and your blog (but you know that)

Hubby is on Facebook--not me. I may still be 17 and think, "Why don't they want to be my friend??" LOL!

Hi Lori
I have enjoyed catching up with your blogging news. Ella's looks a fantastic place to eat and the pictures around your own lovely home look beautiful. I enjoyed our chats in the 'real world' during the last 2 weeks. Thanks for being such a special friend.
Glad to hear you have re-connected with old friends via FB. I am still in touch with 3 of my closest friends from High School but not via FB. When we chat it's just like we are 17 again.
The book sounds good. I will have to tell Jessica about it.
Have a great time with your Mom and please say "hello" to her from her new english friends.
Have a great week.
Lindsay

Facebook is fun! I can see where you might be sad seeing a "grown-up" version of your friends. Maybe it's the idea that IF they are older, then that means you are older. I'm hoping you'll get past being sad and embrace the fact that you'll be keeping in touch with your old friends! It's a great tool!

I feel exactly the same way about Facebook! It makes me a little sad too. But fun to find friends again!

I feel the same way about my school friends and home school friends!

Friends what ever part of life it is are just special.

There is a reason or purpose for each friend in our lives. Sometimes our friendships / interactions or short lived.

The Lord has a plan for each friend in our life past, present, and future!
