Sweet Val sent me this little Hootie fellow as part of her Toy Society project. The girls and I were thrilled! We took him to a local park to find him a new home.:) She attached a note stating that he was FREE! (Yippee!).
She also sent me this lovely little birdie for my Happy Tree! Hurrah! Thank you Val!
This is my current project. Do not attempt unless you have TONS of time. I am going to endure, although Jeff says I will not be finished before next Christmas! If you want to join the fun get to Hobby Lobby and buy a ton of sequins (colors you love), a ton of sequin pins, a ton of seed beads and/or tiny inexpensive "pearls" (I used both) and a styrofoam tree shaped form. **Note- In order to reinforce the beads and sequins dip the pin tips in Elmer's glue and also apply glue on the styrofoam. It's fun but time consuming. I know it will be so pretty WHEN I finish.:)
I lost two of my followers last month. Sadness. I have not been blogging as much, but you have all stuck with me anyway. Thank you! As a little thank you, I chose two lucky winners this month! Gooseberry Patch books to help you get ready for Christmas! The first book- Coming Home for Christmas is going to....
Jennifer! Please contact me with your address- toosillysisters@cox.net
And the winner of Christmas Cookies is Nancy! Contact me, Sweetie, and I will get your book to you lickity split!

Oh girllllll, that sequin tree is beautiful. I bet it is alot of work but in the end it will be worth it!
I think it's great that you gave away the Gooseberry Patch books-They are the best.

Have a great weekend little sis,

Hi Lori!
I made some sequined styrofoam ornaments for our tree several years ago and they turned out so pretty. I love your idea of doing a styrofoam tree...I think I'm going to have to make one myself!
Big congrats to Nancy for winning the cookbook...that's on my Wish List!
Your sequin tree will be just beautiful! I love the colors you picked out. I tried some ornaments last year and gave up! I admire you for seeing it through...you are right about it being time consuming. Maybe I should try again?
xo,
annie
p.s. loved seeing the pics of your daughter's Nutcracker performance! Too bad you could not get the costume...I bet it was gorgeous.
Congratulations to the winners! And I wish you lots of luck with that beautiful sequin tree!
It will be well worth the effort!
Love to you!,
Eileen
Say what??? I won. Thank you so much,my friend. You are a delight. I made something with one of those cones. I "mossed" it up. Not too sure about it. It needs something else. Excuse my description... but mine looks like a moss "turd". What should I do?
LOOOOVE that tree!!!!...and I wouldn't finish before Christmas either! :) but, I may still have to try!!! :)
Love the sequin tree! When I was a kid my grandma would buy me doll kits and their skirts were styrofoam and I had to sequin and bead it just like your tree. I wish I still had mine!
Have a great day!
Hugs!

Your sequin tree is GORGEOUS...I can definitely see why it would be so time consuming.

Hi Lori

That sequin tree is going to be beautiful. I think I may actually attempt one myself...It would make a great addition to my Christmas decorations.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
Oh my, I can tell already that the sequin tree will be worth EVERY minute!!! I can hardly wait for the "reveal". Then, one day it will be sitting on a mantel in an honored place and the next generation will be told, "Great Grandma Lori" spent hours and hours making this. : )
I must be getting older and more sentimental. : )
Have a great weekend,
M.L.
That tree is going to be gorgeous! Don't worry, I think we are all blogging a lot less-too busy! I am not listed as a follower but I have you on my reader and alway read. Even when I don't comment!
I love Gooseberry Patch cookbooks!! Congrats to your winners!
The sequin tree is FABULOUS!!
HOpe you have a wonderful weekend!
Cant wait to see that sequin tree. Love the colors.
Congrats to the winners!
Loving the sequin tree! Especially the colors! I wanted to do something similar, but using pre-strung beads! I know I would never get done doing it separately! Patience is not my thing-- as I am constantly telling my kids!
That tree is going to be awesome!! Love it!!
Elise
LOVE Gooseberry Patch!!
Wow! I am amazed at your persistence with that sequin-styrofoam project! No wonder you have been busy!
Congrats to the winners! My grandmother used to make these sequin trees...oh and I have a sequin treat she made that I will have to share.
I have never heard of Goosberry but now I think I need to check them out since I have read so much about bloggers having them.
Btw....your hair is so cute...You know I have the same problem but I bought me a straight iron and now I can have straight hair...I have naturally curly hair. I get the best of both worlds now when I want to.
