About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Kirsten, an American Girl Class

Our last day of American Girl class.
Part of me really wants to teach it again.
Part of me needs a serious break.

A break it shall be- for now.

To end our study of Kirsten, we created necklaces in
honor of Singing Bird, Kirsten's Indian friend.

The girls used wooden, shell and "bone" beads.

                                          They also painted Swedish boxes...

and played "Puss in the Corner".  You need 5 players.
There is a "kitty" in the middle of 4 corners.  In each
        corner is a child.

When "Puss" yells "Change!" everyone tries to find
a corner- including "Puss", the kitty!

Whoever doesn't find a corner is the next kitty.  Super fun!

It was really hot, so we came inside and created "quilt
             square" cookies.

Sugar cookies were cute into squares and everyone designed
three so we could make a quilt cookie!

Good thing we had a lot of frosting and sprinkles on hand.:)

The girls work of art.  It tasted as good as it looked!

We finished early, which never happens!  So the
                    girls had some free time.

They decided to play Mystery Date.  The girls were
            quick learners!

In the end, Anna won her mystery date!  So fun!

The clothes on the table are clean- just outgrown.
                                          Keeping it real.:)

Hi Lori
Love the 'Puss In The Corner' game, it looks such fun. Your American Girl classes have been amazing but you are right to take a break right now. Like Tristan I will miss your posts about them :( Those quilt cookies look so good, I want one right now! Cute necklaces too, the beads are really pretty.
