About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Every Perfect Gift by Dorothy Love

My Thoughts:

Every Perfect Gift, by Dorothy Love, is the third and final book in her Hickory Ridge Romance series. I love how Dorothy Love beautifully combines endearing characters, an entertaining story line, history, and romance.  Every Perfect Gift was a lovely escape from the holiday rush and I really enjoyed reading it by the fire after everyone had gone to sleep.  Sophie Caldwell is a strong young lady with a mysterious past, unknown even to herself.  Her memories of living in an orphanage are heartbreaking but the love of a few special people carried her through.  I admired her spunk and independence even when it seemed that everything and (almost) everyone was against her.  The grand hotel, Blue Smoke, was a delight for the imagination and Ms. Love richly describes it to her readers.  Breathtaking!  Ethan Heyward is a tortured soul and the secret that he desperately guards had me turning pages quickly to discover the truth.  I was more than pleased when past characters in the series popped up for a quick "hello"!  Questions are answered, lives are changed and God is an ever part of the plan in the Hickory Ridge series.  Dorothy Love once again delivers a fabulous story that will take your breath away!

Book 3 in Dorothy Love’s Hickory Ridge Romance series.
Ethan and Sophie long to share a future together. But the secrets they’re not sharing could tear them apart.
Sophie Caldwell has returned to Hickory Ridge, Tennessee, after years away. Despite the heartaches of her childhood, Sophie is determined to make a home, and a name, for herself in the growing town. A gifted writer, she plans to resurrect the local newspaper that so enchanted her as a girl.
Ethan Heyward’s idyllic childhood was shattered by a tragedy he has spent years trying to forget. An accomplished businessman and architect, he has built a majestic resort in the mountains above Hickory Ridge, drawing wealthy tourists from all over the country.
When Sophie interviews Ethan for the paper, he is impressed with her intelligence and astounded by her beauty. She’s equally intrigued but fears he will reject her if he learns about her shadowed past. Just as she summons the courage to tell him, Ethan’s own past unexpectedly and violently catches up with him, threatening not only his life but their budding romance.
