About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! The Men's Devotional Bible Review and Giveaway!

And the winner is.... Jennifer Russell!!!! Congratulations, Jennifer!

My Husband's Thoughts:

I have to say that I was a bit skeptical when my wife asked me to be a “guest blogger” and review The Men’s Devotional Bible for her website.  I know how much work goes in to reviewing and blogging since I have witnessed Lori working on reviews for many hours.

I am by no means an authority on the Bible. A couple years ago I did read the entire bible as YouVersion reminded me every day for a year. After I finished I looked back and realized that even though I could say I read it all, I really didn’t have a good understanding of how it all fit together and practical applications in today’s world.

When I was in school the first thing I would always do with my new text books would be to look in the back at the appendices. There would always be useful information that would save time later and answer many questions that I would have during the class.  No exception here—there are fourteen articles that deal with things like marriage, fathering, a man’s identity, and doubt from a man’s perspective. I was also pleased to read that not only are they are current with today’s world but they tie a man’s current struggles and issues with specific passages in the bible and how they apply today.

I also found a dictionary and an index of devotionals.  The 365 devotionals are spread throughout the bible.  I really enjoy reading them since they give background and context as well as how the passage relates to today’s world.  Overall I am very happy that I decided to review this devotional bible and now it looks like I will be reading the Bible again except this time I will be getting much more out of it.  Thank you for letting me do this review.
