About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Wilson and Wilson Folk Art

Years ago I walked into Wilson and Wilson Folk Art gallery in Eureka Springs, Arkansas with my Mom and Jeff.  I immediately fell in love with the colorful and happy art work of Blakely Wilson.  In fact, I have her art all over my house now!  Blakely is a person that absolutely exudes joy and makes you feel right at home.  Her art work does the same thing for me in my home, too.  Blakely and her mother both paint (she learned from her mother) and share the shop.  If you are ever in Eureka Springs you must stop by and say, "Hello."  You will leave having made some new friends and maybe even take a little piece of happiness home with you- like I did.:-)

Brown Paper Packages

It was a hot and busy day of dentist appointments, schoolwork and shopping but look what was waiting for me on my front porch when I got home!  Katrina, my Christmas in July partner sent me a package of goodies that all stood for a letter in the word "MERRY".  M (monogram)- "L" stationery, E (everyone must have this!)- a fun movie (Never Been Kissed- such a great movie!) with chocolate (Now where did that giant chocolate bar go??), R (red and green item) pad of paper, R (re-gifted item) She really spoiled me on this one with a NEW Starbucks travel mug- in pink! and Y (you want one for yourself) Laced by Carol Higgins Clark.  Katrina- I absolutely love Carol and Mary Higgins Clark and have read almost all their books- EXCEPT this one!:)  Thanks so much for all the wonderful gifts!

Then, lucky me, I got to open yet another package from my partner Brenda. We participated in the Simple Woman's Summer Swap together.  Brenda is one talented lady!  Look at the beautiful sugar mold candle holder she painted for me!  What a gorgeous summer scene!  She also sent me a funny book on tape and a pretty candle and candle plug in that smells like "Beach Walk".  Who wouldn't love that?!  Plus, look at the detail on the homemade penny mat.  Yep, she also made that!  She has a darling shop called Pumpkin Patch Primitives.  Don't you just love that name??  Stop by and take a peek!  Thank you so much, Brenda, I love everything!

Hot Springs, Arkansas

(Al Capone on the left)

We're home!  What a whirlwind of a trip, but so much fun!  Jeff had to speak at a conference in Hot Springs and invited us to join him.  We were thrilled!
We ate pancakes at the famous Pancake Shop, went shopping at "The Savory Pantry" (the Raspberry Wasabi Mustard is delicious!), visited the Science Museum, survived the Wax Museum (scary- in more ways than one), swam in the pool (Katie got to try her "Super Swimming Suit" and now has renewed confidence in the water- Hurrah!), and even saw Miss Arkansas at dinner! (We ate at Coy's which was fabulous and were taken care of by Moe!  If you are a local you know how lucky we were- She is the BEST!)
This weekend was the Miss Arkansas Pageant and all the girls that were competing were staying at our hotel.  We were so tempted to get tickets, just for fun, but ran out of time.  The convention center was lovely, though.  That's where I got the pictures of the old pictures.  It turns out that Al Capone and his buddies used to hang out in Hot Springs.  They paid off the sheriffs and pretty much had the run of the town!  Al Capone's car is on display in the famous Arlington Hotel.
The people were so friendly and we can't wait to go again!  Next time we would like to dig for diamonds...:)
