About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Educating the Wholehearted Child- TOS review

A few months ago, a friend of mine asked me if I could recommend a book that would help her prepare for homeschooling.  I did not have an answer for her at the time, but I do now. Educating the Wholehearted Child is a handbook for Christian Home Education and a must for new homeschoolers as well as veteran homeschoolers.  I was amazed at all the information contained in one book!  Here are some of the topics covered:

*Learning to Be at Home with Christ
*Shaping Your Child's Heart to Live for Christ
*Understanding Your Child
*The Study of the Basics
*The Study of Living
*Keeping the Home Together
*Keeping Faith in the Family
*Books for Wholehearted Learning

and more!

Take a peek at the Table of Contents here.
The authors of Educating the Wholehearted Child, Clay and Sally Clarkson, have succeeded in providing a wealth of information for the whole family in this book.  It help you to evaluate and work with your child's learning style, how to become an educated consumer in the homeschooling community, qualities to look for when choosing books, how to set up your classroom and more.  There is so much valuable information in this book that I have barely scratched the surface!  Educating the Wholehearted Child is a book that you will definitely want to have in your homeschool library as you will want to read it again and again.  Feel free to read a chapter here.

I really enjoyed reading the personal experiences and ideas that Clay and Sally Clarkson have included throughout the book.  Seeing how they "practice what they preach" is wonderful and inspiring!  I also loved the Forms for Wholehearted Learning that they have created.  They have Project Planners, Task Lists, Book Reports and more.  I know I will be putting, these as well as the rest of this wonderful book, to good use.

Educating the Wholehearted Child sells for $22.00 at Apologia.

*I was given a copy of Educating the Wholehearted Child in exchange for an honest review.  No other compensation was received.*
