About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! This Is Our Time movie review and GIVEAWAY!

The winner is Glogirl!  Congratulations!

My Thoughts:

This is Our Time is a movie about God's plan for each one of us.  The movie begins with five friends graduating from college, excited about the future and what it holds for them.  As far as life goes, sometimes our path seems quite clear and other times we feel a bit lost.  Regardless, our Lord's intentions are perfect, even if we don't understand them at the time.  The movie's message is reassuring in that it addresses life's events, both good and bad, and how God uses everything to mold us, prepare us for what is coming.  This is Our Time reminded me a bit of St. Elmo's Fire, minus the bad language and "adult themes".  Friends anxious to conquer the world, only to discover that life can be quite difficult sometimes.  It was fun to see Erik Estrada (CHIPS) and Eric Roberts- and also Mary Anne from Gilligan's Island!  I adored Ale (pronounced Allie) and Luke, who venture to India as missionaries.  Their story lines were rich and honorable and the characters were endearing.  Ethan is the character that many of us can identify with.  My heart went out to him as he struggled to figure out what God had planned for his future.  Had God forgotten him?  Was he just not good enough?  You'll have to watch the movie and see what happens.:)  On the other hand, I had a difficult time caring for the other characters.  They appeared to be trying a bit too hard to carry their own story lines and not truly succeeding.  I also felt that the dialogue, while wholesome, was quite cheesy at times.  All in all, This Is Our Time is a sweet movie with a lovely message.

About This Is Our Time
The movie tells the interwoven stories of Luke (T.J. Dalrymple) and Alé (Erin Bethea), who marry right after school and move to India to serve as missionaries for Embrace A Village, a ministry that cares for those afflicted with leprosy and their families; aspiring financier Catherine (Kate Cobb), who joins a prestigious financial institution determined to make an impact on corporate America; Ryder (Matthew Florida), who lands an impressive job in social media and can’t wait to use the powerful medium for a greater good; and Ethan (Shawn-Caulin Young,) seemingly the odd man out, who struggles to find his God-given-purpose and feels sidelined by God.
“What they all come to learn is that it never really was their time,” Arnold said. “It always was, always is, God’s time.”
